Sounds Like
Pop songwriting, punk rock attitude, and oozing sentimentality played with electronic instruments. An accumulation of sounds integrated: funk, intelligent old-school hiphop, gospel, jazz, Latin, disco, prog-metal, synth-rock, blues-rock, americana folk, world music, jam band music, and Game'n'Watch nostalgia.
Erick is a rock guitarist who also plays keyboard instruments. He uses a BEHRINGER UMX25 MIDI keyboard, his desktop computer and a Suzuki classical guitar to create sugary melodies, bouncy beats and catchy but otherworldly sounds, all in the name of classic pop songwriting that transcends the limits of word-based compositions. Erick derives his musical concepts from tons of secondhand books, strange graphic novels, pop culture, robot myths, Sweet Valley Twins, C.S. Lewis, E.F. Schumacher's 'Small Is Beautiful', Kurt Vonnegut's 'Cat's Cradle', and a childhood spent swimming in dirty floodwaters.
Mr. Fabian is formerly of obscure lo-fi folkpop outfit Lewis*Staples
CERUMENTRIC is not a DJ, and he is not into club/dance culture. CERUMENTRIC is a one-man rock band that just so happens to use computers in their music.
Erick also plays classically-influenced instrumental pop. You can listen to it here: Erick A. Fabian Sr.
hi! Erick-san How are you doing? I have played Theremin and just started to sing. My singing is very bad!! How should I do? Should I go to vocal lesson? Yeah, real monkey would make troubles hehe. Well, where did you hear "EIGO DE SHIYABERA NAITO"? I think this is the title of Japanese TV English lesson program. They spell "Eigo de shabera night" just for fun. It means "You should talk in English". Do you understand what I am saying? I am not goot at explanation.
