"A band to look out for" - The Ataris on popworldpromotes.com
"Cedar Falls - Tree Toppers. Cedar Falls heartfelt songs of love and loss have a raw emotional edge, carried by their fine musicianship, especially their superb guitar, piano, and outstanding vocals. This band are good - really good, and their songs go right to the heart. There's a taste of The Baby's, Blue Oyster Cult and Snow Patrol in here, but their overall sound is strictly their own. They already sound like a Glastonbury headlining band, so you don't need to be a genius to predict the direction this band are going in.
To the very top of the tree…" - Liverpool Echo
"There's an edge to this music, reminiscent as it is of Blue Oyster Cult, U2, Aha, and Snow Patrol. With individual, emotional vocals, driving percussion, keyboard and guitar sounds, Escape! Glorious Escape! demonstrates qualities that hint of great things to come for Cedar Falls. This is one of those EPs you can show off about already having when the band hit the big time." - Liverpool Echo
"The band brandish a very capable form of hard rocking indie / pop, inspired by the stadium sounds of the contemporary stream of great northern bands. Cedar Falls have a very interestingly titled EP “The Kites Of Otterspool Promenade” which means they either live in a rather weird town or have vivid imaginations. I suspect it’s the latter as the shiny pop anthem of “Kill Me” has the same light rock appeal as Longview." - Manchestermusic.co.uk
"Berlin is a fantastic rock song in the U2 mould. With one of the most anthemic choruses we’ve heard for a long time!"...." Follow up track Car Crash is an even better song... From the moment the drums start this song never lets off for a second"... "This young band from Liverpool are another with a bright future." - TheMusicMagazine.co.uk
"Splendid Vocals and Superb Harmonies" - We Release Records
"Beautifully constructed poppy rock from the Northwest, with the uplifting/melancholic juxtaposition made so poignant by Echo and the Bunnymen. This (Cedar Falls) is brilliantly performed and tightly recorded. Lots of people will really like this. Catchy melodies, introspective lyrics well sung in a believable manner... " - www.bandman.co.uk
"Liverpool band with a big bright sound… all that post Doves/Snow Patrol type doings with a big dose of Feeder and U2… A big passionate performance with sonic savvy assured. - Bugbear Promotions
‘Cedar Falls’ take their name from a song by unsigned liverpudlians, Mesemenie, called ‘The Cinder Lady’
“There’s a house by Cedar Falls, No images adorn its smoke black walls”
Cedar Falls could be anywhere you want it to be, a place for lost souls and spirits.
Cedar Falls is an ode to the ones we’ve lost.
The band themselves hail from the outskirts of Liverpool, with a sound and attitude influenced by the great Manchester acts.
Robert Hough, Keiron Coyne and Alex Williams formed ‘Cedar Falls’ on the final day of 2005 and since that date the band have played shows in established venues and at festivals across England including Leeds, London, Newcastle, Manchester and their home town of Liverpool gathering large followings to their shows.
The band has been keen to build on their catalogue of strong anthemic songs adding to it by writing and recording at every opportunity. The band strive to deliver an energetic live performance that showcases their by now signature large epic sound. The band's sound is a mix of bass throb and choppy, sparse guitar, drawing comparisons to post-punk bands such as ‘Joy Division’ and ‘Echo and The Bunnymen’ and post punk revivalists ‘Interpol’ and ‘Editors’.
With ambitions above their stations, ‘Cedar Falls’ could go anywhere. Where is your Cedar Falls?
