GeneralParanormal spooky things, I like dead people, they can be annoying at times but mostly they just seem to hang out. I collect tarot decks, books on all things magical, and text on the paranormal.

You are The High Priestess

Science, Wisdom, Knowledge, Education.

The High Priestess is the card of knowledge, instinctual, supernatural, secret knowledge. She holds scrolls of arcane information that she might, or might not reveal to you. The moon crown on her head as well as the crescent by her foot indicates her willingness to illuminate what you otherwise might not see, reveal the secrets you need to know. The High Priestess is also associated with the moon however and can also indicate change or fluxuation, particularily when it comes to your moods.

What Tarot Card are You?
Take the Test to Find Out.

MusicBon Jovi,The Mockers, Hello Sailor, Th'dudes, Rolling Stones, Queen, Eric Clapton, Bowie, Aerosmith, Matchbox twenty, Meridian Smith, Alice Cooper, Greenday, Shania Twain, the Who, The Hollies, Dead Stoned Babies, Sex Pistols, The Clash, The Highwaymen, Talking Heads, Graham Parker, Metallica, Eminem, John Lee Hooker, BB King, Elvis...lots of stuff really... I guess I am eclectic when it comes to music. I have George Jones-Corvette song, stuck in my head on a regular basis! A recent project brought with it a need for Gary Moore's "Over the hills and far away." and Plain White T's "Hey there Delilah." Currently I'm back on a Rolling Stones kick, much to the horror of our neighbors. :) There is something fabulous about having the stereo set to stun.. when listening to the Rolling Stones while writing. -- not to mention it drowns out my dreadful singing! Okay that was last year, this year my writing is accompanied by Bon Jovi - most especially the Lost Highway album. I'm guessing I must play it a lot as our two-year-old is now recognizing band members and knows all the songs. lol
MoviesI like action movies, especially when they're not supposed to be funny... they are usually the funniest. :) Of course old Peter Jackson movies rank highly with me (being a kiwi an' all), if it weren't for him I wouldn't know how to kill a zombie. Sometimes, I like to be scared, but not so much grossed out, psycho thrillers more than blood and guts... I can write gore but I don't like watching it, I think it's an age thing, I grew out of the gore phase. I firmly believe Sean Connery was the best Bond ever. I've even been known to watch the occasional chick flick.. but let's not spread that around.
TelevisionNCIS... it's got Mark Harmon in it, need I say more???

BooksJanet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series, The worst-case survival handbooks, Terrorism Explained by Clive Williams, Ghost Strasse by Simon Burnett, anything by Jeffrey Deaver-his mind is terrifying and he's a really lovely man!...The Rain series by Barry Eisler. Situation Sabotage by Graeme Johns (You'll never eat packet biscuits again!) I grew up reading boys stories because they were more exciting than girls stories. I loved reading war comics (Battle and Commando), and Ian Fleming's James Bond novels. Willard Price was my one of my favorite authors as a kid, I adored Hal and Roger Hunt and their many adventures. I loved when my brother got new books!!!

About me:
I'm a published writer or an author if you prefer. (or smartass, that works too) I've had a number of short stories published in the US and UK over the last three years, some in print journals some in ezines. (I think the total is now 14!) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have a short story, "Uninvited", in the Fall issue of Mysterical-e (Fall 2007). -- the link can be found on my website. - check the archives section of Mystericale for this story now. as for 2008 --- Bewildering Stories published a short story of mine, called "Tracks" - in issue 279. There is a link on my website or use this one (http://www.bewilderingstories.com/) and another short story, "How much is gold worth?" was published in issue 296. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For anyone wanting to read some of my older short stories: "In my father's eyes" is archived over at Mystericale, check out the march 2005 archives. "One Breath at a time" is archived over at T-zero, Nov 2005 issue. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- July 2006 I signed with Triskelion Publishing and a week shy of the release of my thriller/suspense novel, Killerbyte, Triskelion announced bankruptcy. (Insert many colorful adjectives here) So, now, I start again! ------------ An update on the Triskelion fiasco.. Siren Publishing bought all the contracts and released them! Way to go Siren!!! With my rights safely back I am now shopping Killerbyte, again. I now have two more books in the Conway series completed, Terrorbyte and Exacabyte. Both are currently under going revisions and final tweaking before they're ready to head out into the world. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I think the time my grandmother came was different - I just knew she was there even though I couldn't see her, so much so that I spoke aloud to her, but the other two experiences could be something like a particularly strong memory that has imprinted itself somehow. I'm not particularly susceptible to atmospheres or stuff (although my visit to Lidwell chapel where all those murders took place spooked me quite badly), but I do think that we don't understand half as much about time and its passage, and memory and death as we think we do.

I think so. None of it has been truly terrifying, just a bit surprising. I think it's just time running a bit funny.

Isn't it?! Not the first time, either. I spoke to my grandmother once - she was there in the hall of my house, even though she was five years dead at that point. And there was another ghostly episode once too, someone crying in the toilet at the old theatre in Bristol (which is the oldest working theatre in the country and very haunted). Thought it was my eldest because she had gone in and not come out, so waited and waited to no avail and in the end gingerly pushed the door. It opened and there was no one inside!

I was at Lacock Abbey, which was an abbey before the dissolution of the monasteries in ... er ... 1536-ish, and then a private home. I was walking through the cloisters (better known to the world at large as the corridors of Hogwarts) and turned into a room which was more a sort of passage. There was an orange plastic fence directly ahead of me which was around a particularly uneven patch of ground, and to the ... er ... right a room called the Warming Room with a big cauldron in it, at which I was looking as I stepped into the passage. Then, immediately, I went 'whoa!' and stopped short. It was as if someone or something had passed through me. I looked away from the Warming Room and saw beyond the fence that there were three stone coffins in the passage room I was in.

Eeek!

Ok, the waiting is killing me.!

I sent A Demon Awaits, to the printer on Sunday. I'm waiting for a proof and it's driving me nuts.

I read the latest screenplay Tuesday and I thought it was fabulous. Marla has done a fantastic job bringing Sin and Vengeance to life. Now I'm waiting for news about that, too.
