"What makes The Castaway Players different than the other theatre groups around the area?"

When was the last time you saw a production where every single performer was an exceptional singer, dancer, and most of all, actor? Here at Castaway, we bring to our audiences the absolute best talent in NY. With this being said less experienced performers should not feel discouraged about trying out for our productions. The directors at Castaway Players know how to perfectly place any performer in their shows and showcase them in the brightest light. The training and rehearsal process is both rigorous and fun, the enviornment is very supportive and friendly, and most of all, the outcomes are overwhelmingly notable. The staff at Castaway believes that developing craft, technique, confidence, and professionalism is the key to growth and achievement as a performer. Even the youngest and/or least experienced performers leave a Castaway production more polished and stronger than before. Another bright quality of the group is the lifelong friends and colleagues you meet while rehearsing. Everyone at The Castaway Players Theatre Group is family to us.

WHAT PEOPLE HAVE BEEN SAYING ABOUT US:

"The community that has been created by The Castaway Players is welcoming, exciting, and creative... feats that theatre groups that have been around for many years are still trying to achieve. These young artists are beyond their years and the true future of entertainment at an exciting grassroots level."

- Anthony D'Amato, acclaimed director/performer

"...the dedication and talent that this group has displayed is something to be cultivated...in times where teenagers are more interested in programming their IPODs..."

- Jeanette Relyea, Clear Channel Radio of the Hudson Valley

"The Rocky Horror Show was by far the most professional production that has ever graced the Colony Cafe stage."

- Management at The Colony Cafe

"Being a part of Castaway is the most exciting adventure I have ever been on. From meeting great friends, to putting on great shows. I have loved every moment of the experience, and I look foward to participating in upcoming shows!"

- Henry Staats, actor

"The Castaway Players are rich in dedication and hard work. They are truly a family that exceeds expectations and breathes new life into the magic of theatre. I have the deepest amount of admiration for them."

- Joe Calcagno, sound supervisor

"As much fun as my theater experiences have been over the years, my time spent with the Castaway Players has certainly been one of the most enjoyable. It’s a great atmosphere. Not only is it pleasant to work with a group of old friends as well as new, it’s also beneficial to learn from more experienced performers in an affable environment."

- Emily Gildea, actress
