About me: Raised in Athens, GA and at home in many musical styles, violist Carol Statella has played on albums as notable as Sinead O’Connor’s Faith and Courage and in backup orchestras for Joni Mitchell, The Moody Blues, Harry Connick Jr., and Brian Wilson, as well as in a string trio for Cat Power's Variety Playhouse performance.
She frequently performs with Lauren Fincham as part of the Rosary duo/trio. Carol (unknowingly!) contributed a live improvised track to the EP Wingspan by Sarah Pinsker. Other live and/or recorded collaborators in recent years include Ronnda Cadle, Ron Hipp (of Over the Wires), Marc English, Envie, Diana Obscura, Mary Delaney, Blake Rainey, and The Tom Collins.
As a reviewer for High Performance Review and contributor to Rockrgrl magazine, she interviewed Caroline Aiken, conductor Robert Shaw, composer Joan Tower, and violist Patricia McCarty. While working as a public radio announcer/producer in the 90s, she produced the series “A Celebration of Women Composers” for NPR affiliate 91.7 FM-WUGA-Athens, GA.
Carol has played in the Atlanta Opera Orchestra and sung with the Atlanta Symphony Chorus.
Thanks so much for your uplifting comment. I will let Armando know that you like his rockin violin!
We are now promoting my two other New Age Albums especially in the United States. "AKASHA" is still on the top of the charts around, and now we hope for the same to happen with "The Present" and "Harmony". Did you see my video called "Primavera" with music from "The Present" album? You will find this and other videos on one my sites and on YouTube.
2nd Annual Wild Mountain Womens Fest!*********** Come join us for a fun weekend of camping and relaxation as we celebrate our Goddess selves in the Chattahoochee National Forest. *********************************************************** Dates: July 25-27, 2008 (arrive whenever you can) Camping will be at the Upper Chattahoochee River Campground. *********************************************************** We will all take a short hike on Saturday, July 26th at 4:00 pm to our sacred glen for a swim. We will have a big ole cookout at 6:00 pm following the hike. Bring whatever you want to share! *********************************************************** Any woman, child, and dog is invited! Please bring a small intention stone of your choice to place in the falls at the water hole of or sacred glen. We look forward to seeing you there! *********************************************************** Directions: From Helen, GA take 17/75 north for 8.6 miles. Just beyond mile marker 15 you will see the Upper Chattahoochee River sign (River Road 44—Mark Trail Wilderness). Turn left onto River Road 44 and follow for 4.6 miles to campground on right. River Road 44 is a graveled, single lane road with turnouts. It is also steep in places with some switchbacks. When visiting Helen, we suggest continuing down River Road 44 to the town, rather than going back up to 17/75. The drive meanders alongside and over the river and is very scenic. This is especially true when the rhododendrons are blooming in the summer. ***********************************************************
HI CAROL, RODNEY HERE IN MEMPHIS... I FOUND THIS POEM ON THE PROTEUS-SYNDROME FOUNDATION WEBPAGE AND KNEW YOU'D APPRECIATE IT. HOPE ALL IS WELL WITH YOU AND THE MUSIC! CHEERS!!
RICHLY BLESSED
I asked God for strength, that I might achieve. I was made weak, that I might learn to obey. I asked for health, that I might do greater things. I was given infirmity that I might do better things. I asked for riches, that I might be happy. I was given poverty that I might be wise. I asked for power, that I might have the praise of men. I was given weakness, that I might feel the need of God. I asked for all things, that I might enjoy life. I was given life, that I might enjoy all things. I got nothing that I asked for but everything I had hoped for. Almost, despite myself, my unspoken prayers were answered. I, among men, am most richly blessed.

The severe drought in Georgia has left my once plush Bermuda grass a barren wasteland. Regardless, I'm going out to mow the lawn...in hopes to appease the rain gods. Or give my neighbors a cheap thrill. You see, I'm inspired by some women
