Carlos Rull is an award-winning drummer currently performing with Big Daddy Orchestra, led by singer/guitarist and bandleader Barry Cohen.
In addition, Carlos performs with several musical projects in the San Diego area, and is often called on to do last minute substitution-work for various musical groups.
Carlos was the drummer for Big Time Operator from December 1996 to May 1999, was best known for his drum solos on Sing, Sing, Sing, and enjoyed much success with the band until his departure. His last gig with the band was in South Beach, Miami, Florida in which the band was flown from San Diego, all-expenses paid, to perform a 45 minute set for Disney Executives! Carlos left the band amid a hectic touring schedule to concentrate on raising two sons and to focus on work locally.
With Big Time Operator, Carlos was the recipient of three San Diego Music Awards for Best Big Band: 1997, 1998, 1999. Carlos was also awarded the Jim Croce Music Excellence Award, presented by Ingrid Croce.
