So what is the album Pirates of the East Coast of the Americas and Caribbean Sea all about?

Well, it could be the first of a string of CD's having famous Pirates and their adventures as the subject matter (well, having said that Polly, the Parrot of the Caribbean is not strictly true although parrots can talk can't they?). Having got a little carried away with myself there are now 26 completed songs in the range (only 14 on the CD) and more on the way! There could be a Captain Rumbucket Rides Again album next.

I suppose it's acousticky and folksy and all-sorsty in its musical styles and I have purposely not limited myself to any one on purpose - I have tried to build in some atmosphere and there are occasions where you could believe a Pirate was telling you the tale first hand - Israel Hands and Along Bristol Dock do this. It also comes across to me as something of a stage play in that I wanted it to sound like real people joining in on the choruses, not an Eagles nicey nicey sort of sound - more, as I say, like you'd expect a like stage production to sound without the coughs and crisp packets.

Whenever I come across an interesting story, character or event it's being written into a song - got any ideas?

The initial album will be available through www.cdbaby.com around mid March 2008 and all other tracks will be added as time goes on. I might even make tracks of albums no longer available as physical copies available through cdbaby but that has yet to be arranged.

Apart from the published CD I am open to offers from corporations regarding putting together collections of songs for their purposes so they can use it as a marketing/promotional tool or as a souvenir of an event or attraction. The music is copyrighted worldwide so anything is possible. Let me know what you think - I like it a lot and I continue to have great fun doing it! Hope you enjoy the sound samples. Captain Rumbucket.

Hey Roy
Played Pirates today...have to say all aims and objectives met...re- your description. I thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish...then again ....then again....and again ! ( I was stuck on the M25!)...love the musicality, arrangements, atmospherics, variety of genre, and lyrical lilt...( Captain Kidd's bits dropping....very graphic)
you've excelled yourself yet again!
By the way ....very impressed with the harmonies...especially your bass vox...deeper than the ocean !

Hi Roy,

To wish you good fortune with 'Pirates', some great songs on there (my favourite on the CD is 'The Parrot Song'). May it buccaneer the seven seas to Treasure Island!

See You Soon, Best, Clive
