As Joy and Christy have (sadly) left our cafe lives... I, Susan, am now undertaking management of the Refuge. Yes, it is still Cafe Refugio, and yes, they have trained me well and I (humbly) accept the great task and joy ahead of me!! The cafe is not closed permanently -- we still hope to have live music in the venue from time to time. Visit us on Second Saturdays (nix July -- we're doing some major cleaning), and get ready for The Artisan's big opening with a very (Chekhovian) play...!
Music
Live and lovely.
Call us eclectic. We hit you with hip hop, blue grass and all folks with guitars inbetween.
Heroes
Businesses, organizations and people that are practicing sustainibility and care for people and their environment. Yeah!
About me:
We opened full time the end of June 2006 at 1901 Del Paso Blvd.
We serve outstanding locally roasted organic/fair trade coffees and espresso. We don't mess around.
Thursday nights we've been having some outstanding local talent playing in our shop. Check our calendar for whose playing. It's always chill and always no cover.
Sorry we could not come to the party }: I (Alan) am not feeling well. You and Christy are the bomb! We are proud of all you accomplished with the Refugio.
Seriously..this is gonna be a great show. I hear Dan Costello is nothing short of heavenly. AND...Mr. Ken Burnett...our local superhero on mandolyn, will be gracing the stage with lil ole me as well the 8th wonder of percussion world, Mr. Kevin Sakamoto from the Zoo Human Project. I'm a lucky girl.
Come through...or you'll miss out! Take a listen to Dan's tunes by clicking on his link below.
Peace
Madeline
