"An all-terrain power wheelchair challenges a man with muscular dystrophy to sacrifice everything to travel the world alone as a backpacker"
At the age of 27, the idea of becoming partially reliant on a wheelchair terrified Andrew Shelley; who has lived with progressive muscle deterioration since birth. Everything changed when he discovered the Frontier X5, an all-terrain, off-road, power wheelchair that could help him live out his yearning to travel the world as a thrill seeker. Now, he undertakes an incredible expedition to go beyond his body’s limit to pursue the higher calling of adventure that he feels destined to fulfill. The voyage becomes more than just about backpacking, it turns into a quest to find his place in the world no matter the cost. On this trip where extreme danger and challenges befall Andrew’s every step, he risks everything to live out his dream.
Hey Drew How are you doing i just watch the sneak paek and it looks bad ass!! We were wondering if you got the email from majic mobility yet..? Hit us up hope to hear from you soon!
Just in case you didn't already know, or havent heard it enough...YOU ROCK!! As a person with MD myself and just starting to face the chair you are a true inspiration!
Hey, thanks for the add! I THINK YOU’RE GREAT! Check out “The Edge News Journal” that focuses on the disabled. We cover all different types of stories. If you have one about the disabled contact us.
A Belated HAPPY BIRTHDAY and, a heartfelt welcome to my "Front Page 40"! I can identify with your story in a somewhat different way; as I am nearly 53; born with spina bifida; spent *most* of my life walking w/heavy steel & leather braces & orthopedic shoes; professional person; confined to a wheelchair since December 2001--had my right foot, calf & knee amputated & removed in April 2003!
As others have rightly observed, You have an extraordinarily inspirational story that needs to be heard! Feel free to liberally comment on my comment board that others may likewise become informed, challenged, inspired, and made better aware of the daily courage and perseverance of the disabled! Beyond The Chair, I am Proud of You!!!
thanks for the request, sorry it took forever I have been pretty busy and I get buried under friend requests. I recently came back from New Orleans where I was on set keying Final Destination 4 for KNB. Lots of good times were had. The movie should be pretty cool. If your a fan of the first three, or lets say, the first two at least, you are going to dig this one. Plus, its in 3D. Oh yeah! Watch people get splattered in 3D, sweet! In writing news I’m waiting to hear back on my novel Wereworld. I have a big interview in the june/july issue of Scars Magazine and a short story coming out in an, as of yet un-named, anthology around Halloween. People at KNB used to joke with me about the fact that I’m building an army here on myspace so i made it a reality....Welcome to the McCarty Army feel free to post the sweet ass logo on your site. check my blogs and my site www.mikemccarty.net for new and exciting news. Cheers

Hiya! I just saw that you were online and wanted to invite you to my latest blog!
My stepson is graduating from Middle School this week, and before he heads to high school in the fall, I thought I'd try and collect some advice for him.
If you get the chance, please stop by and let him know what you think he should know before he starts the new school in September!
