One of the best known Caribbean artists, Bruce Smith’s self-taught native style can be seen throughout the Caribbean and in all 32 Bahama Breeze restaurants in the United States. He’s also illustrated books like Edward Hamilton’s “Rums of the Eastern Caribbean.”
Bruce continues to paint original works that depict life in the islands and can be seen on murals in the British Virgin Islands, at art exhibitions around the Caribbean and at galleries like Mango Tango in St. Thomas and Harmony Hall in Antigua.
Bruce and his wife Jan are currently sailing from their home in the Pacific Northwest back to the Caribbean, aboard Woodwind, the gaff-rigged ketch Bruce built himself.
Here you can follow my sailing adventure from the Pacific Northwest to the Caribbean.
“Jan and I would like to acknowledge and thank our friends at Bahama Breeze for their help and support during our voyage back to the Caribbean. Every cruiser needs someone watching out for them back on dry land, and we’re grateful Bahama Breeze has been there for us every step of the way, along with family and friends.”
Hiya Bruce!
Jeff and I (Ka Hale Kai) from the San Francisco Bay tried a couple of times to catch up to you after meeting you labor day weekend but didn't find ya! We hope all is well with you and Jan! We read the recent article about you in Latitude 38! Wowee what an adventure! Cheers!
