I was born in Stephenville, Tx and grew up in Ft Worth, Tx. My brother (aka, Ted Stripling,aka DJ Pixle) and I have been blessed by God to have an incredable music teacher for a mother, Kathleen Stripling. In Texas, many years before we moved to Bahrain where I graduated from High School, and where I got a spot playing bass in my first real gigging band called "the Hemlock Society" our musical roots were planted. Ted and I new when we were little kids that we wanted to move the world with our music. I think our music helped us to integrate ourselves in the different cultures we have lived in and that we visit even today. Music is our language, our passion, and our HOME. We are here in this one moment of expresion to learn, love and share with you what we have found.
"The Hyperspeed Society" is my term for American modern living. I am making a statement about our countrys current economic, political, and social state. Just slow down America, get informed, stop watching so much TV and all of us together now rise up against Corporate Corruption and Government Sponcered Terrorism. The best way for fighting this is first to recognize it for who and what it truely is. There is power in numbers, and we out number them, they know this so they give us lots of distractions so we feel less and less connected to each other and everything we truely value. Through our music and my band of brothers and sisters we are trying to get reconected for the betterment of the PEOPLE of this WORLD and ALL the CHILDREN OF THE EARTH.
The story behind the band "Brothers from Another Mother" begins overseas in the restless sand dunes of Saudi Arabia. It was here in the "Magic Kingdom" that the families of Hans Stockenberger (lead vocals/guitar), Brian Stripling (Bass), and Ted Stripling (Drums),AND ALEXIS OLSEN (GUITAR) ALONG WITH TODD, AND ZACK NIMMS, AND BRETT MILLER worked and played in the quiet town of Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. Armed with homemade moonshine, called Sidiqui (friend in Arabic), and their instruments, Brothers from Another Mother rocked and grooved the good people of Saudi Arabia. 3 Years later it was decided that the Brothers should START WORKING ON OUR MUSIC in the United States and began a band in Boston Mass, under the name Step Light.
Step Light was very successful FOR AN INDEPENDANT BAND IN THAT SCENE. WE HAD A NACK FOR partying and bringing much joy to the land with songs crafted about magic carpet rides, cute girls, and bizarre behavior. Finally, THE HIGH COST OF rent became to expensive in Boston and the Brothers realized for all the money they spent on rent they could have bought a small country and it was then decided TO GO HOME TO Texas, which is exactly where this story began.
I am currently releasing " New Metropolis" from Hypersonic studios in the hill country of Tx. I STARTED along time ago in Galaxy not so Far away. It will be available in a few weeks on ITUNEs, and everywhere.
