That feeling.
It’s flying through a forest, it’s laying in bed with silence, it’s sitting in the dark with headphones stealing you away, it’s the corners of your mind that can creep out, but sometimes never see the light, it’s love and it’s the void.
Welcome to Breakfast Balcony.
After forming in early 2006 Breakfast Balcony have been on a mixed up cycle of playing shows throughout Tasmania, dashing back to the studio to record various demos and completing work on their debut EP.
The enjoyment of their music is obvious and Breakfast Balcony are busy creating new songs and journeys; “we can’t wait to share all we have to give, the joy and despair of our music.” Says singer/guitarist Ben Curtis.
Breakfast Balcony try to create a world that encaptures the listener and have gained a name and following for themselves with their unique but addictive indie pop songs.
They have played concerts alongside music greats such as Jimmy Barnes and Diesel as well as Bobby Flynn and playing regular gigs at local night clubs.
As well as playing many high profile shows and gathering quite a following, Breakfast Balcony have had much success with their debut EP. Tracks from the EP have been; played on Triple J, featured on Triple J unearthed website, played often on ABC radio along with 2 acoustic live performances, as well as air time on Local stations and plans for songs to be featured on an international documentary promoting cystic fibrosis.
With the local success of their debut EP, Breakfast Balcony are set to gather the elements, emotions and energy and embark on a journey to create an explosive album for the world to see, hear and get lost amongst.
“it’s all our musical tastes culminating together to create a unique, sometimes daunting and exciting sound for our new songs.” Says bass player Allan Hortle.
Breakfast Balcony have accomplished much in a short time and continue to grow and captivate audiences and listeners alike. They have had success with their debut EP and can’t wait to unleash new sounds and feelings of their latest songs. Breakfast Balcony are quickly growing and there’s no telling how big they will become.
