MusicFor me to think of an artist as a favorite, I must love every single song they've ever written! So with that stringency in mind, Favorite Bands are asiandubfoundation, Swing out Sister & Siouxsie Sioux in all her incarnations from the Banshees, to the Creatures, to her recent solo work (UK); Portishead & Graham Parker (UK); Kinky & Zoe; (Mexico); Xploding Plastix (Norway); Himawari (Japan); Ozomatli & Tom Waits (USA). Am currently listening to Portishead's "Third"! STUNNING.
MoviesMy favorite film is "London Kills Me" directed in 1993 by Brit Hanif Kureishi. "The Boot is True!" The rest of the Top-Ten list is comprised of Hostel, Babe, Deep Red (Dario Agrento), The Devil's Backbone (Guillermo Del Toro), The Truth About Charlie (Jonathan Demme), The Taking of Pelham 123, Local Hero and Comfort and Joy (both written and directed by Bill Forsyth), and Shadow of a Doubt (Hitchcock). JUST rewatched "Deep Red" with Jenna Keefner on Saturday night, Dec. 1st: HOW could it be more brilliant, more heady, more topical in it's depictions of gender warfare than I even remember?! Recent Greats: "Zodiac," "I Am Legend" and "Hostel 2" (2007).
TelevisionScripted fare: "Supernatural." I adore Reality TV: all the court shows, "American Inventor," "The Amazing Race," "Beauty & the Geek," "So You Think You Can Dance?," "Wife Swap," "Trading Spouses," Nanny 911," "Super Nanny," "The Academy" etc. I do NOT, however, watch "American Idol," which has as much to do with singing as Vegas has to do with culture.
BooksFavorite Book is 'The Third Lady' by Shizuko Natsuki (Japanese); an ingeniously complex murder mystery drenched in misery and regret.
HeroesHeroes are Margaret Sanger, Cyndi Lauper, Rosie O'Donnell, Roseanne Barr, The Goldman Family and Beth Twitty. Favorite Quotes: "What makes the world go round, as I have learned from bitter experience, is sexual intercourse," writer Henry Miller. AND "I turned a corner today. I beat the shit out of a couple of kids—for a purpose. It made me feel good about myself." — Billy Bob Thornton in "Bad Santa"

   Brim's Blurbs
About me:
Love the city of Sydney, the lunch room inside Carlsbad Caverns, and the purple trees of Los Angeles. I am a writer and an artist and an atheist. I am the co-author of an award-winning travel book, "Costa Rica: The Last Country The Gods Made." Currently I am a Writing Coach. My clients include 1 novelist (soon to be published!), 1 memoirist, 2 film directors (script coverage), 2 screenwriters (script doctoring) and 2 musicians (website content). I am also exploring art in my life. I design and sew cross-stitches that combine grafitti-stencil graphics with sarcastic messages (see my picture gallery). And in my spare time I catch avante-guarde theatre, horror films screened at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery, and accompany my beau dirt-biking, mountain-biking and motorcycling!
Who I'd like to meet:
Artists! Writers! People who need a Writing Coach, an Editor or a Writer. I provide editorial services for any medium, from line-editing, to website content, from book proposals to script coverage.

You spelled it right. Normally people drop the second g. Then I have to let them know that I have two G's in my last name and I will cut them.

Thanks for the wonderful comment about my boys. Whenever I'm stressed, and I call in to the office, your tone makes me feel like the stress is just melting away. But I'm sure you get that all the time. You've got to come check out the Heather Woodbury show at Bang? Hit me back for details.
