BostonHemp's Interests
General
I book the music and a rare speaker or two for the annual MassCann/NORML Boston Freedom Rally on the Boston Common.
The Rally is a huge, free, independent marijuana reform festival with the best homegrown talent and national speakers on the Boston Common every year, the third Sat every September, High Noon, a Boston tradition.
Eight acts that have played our benefits or Freedom Rally were nominated for this year's Boston Music Awards.
We try to promote our acts as much as we possibly can.
I also book some random, awesomely fun benefit club events for MassCann/NORML.
I get many messages from bands and can't always respond back, but more often than not I do read everything. Keep in mind I am an open-minded fan of new music but my time is limited. It's always harder for me to book out of town bands with no draw, so please be aware of that. I'm looking to work with the best bands that have interest in supporting/playing our shows. If that's you, please let me know.
And know that I only book occasional shows not every week. If you are just looking for a date in Boston, there are a ton of great and well attended venues that do book original out of town bands.
But if you are hemp minded and out of sight, send me a message and tell me why I should book you. But please don't get mad if I don't get right back, sometimes months later I might have a show, you never know. Silence means nothing but that I was to busy to reply at that moment.
If children live with criticism, they learn to condemn. If children live with hostility, they learn to fight. If children live with fear, they learn to fight. If children live with pity, they learn to feel sorry for themselves. If children live with ridicule, they learn to feel shy. If children live with jealousy, they learn to feel envy. If children live with shame, they learn to feel guilty. If children live with encouragement, they learn confidence. If children live with tolerance, they learn patience. If children live with praise, they learn appreciation. If children live with acceptance, they learn to love. If children live with approval, they learn to like themselves. If children live with recognition, they learn it is good to have a goal. If children live with sharing, they learn generosity. If children live with honesty, they learn truthfulness. If children live with fairness, they learn justice. If children live with kindness and consideration, they learn respect. If children live with security, they learn to have faith in themselves and in those about them. If children live with friendliness, they learn the world can be a nice place in which to live. ---by Dr. Dorothy Law Nolte, Ph.D
