“A Portrait of Ten Women” by Fanny Garcia. Directed by Ingrid Marquez - Latina women dealing with HIV/ AIDS.

Greetings From A Queer Senorita - Written & Directed by Monica Palacios, BOFLTE's Resident Artist.
For 26 years, Monica Palacios has been on the forefront of queer Latina/o writing and performing. This Los Angeles based Chicana writer/performer is the creator of several one woman shows: The OH! Show; Get Your Feet Wet; Queer Soul: A 20 year retrospective; Besame Mucho; Latin Lezbo Comic, and Greetings From A Queer Señorita, which have been seen across the country and Off Broadway. Ms. Palacios is featured in the independent films: In The Bag, Lauren Malkasian & Amy Lemisch Producers and Serious Jokers, PBS by award winning documentary filmmaker Arthur Dong.

Breath of Fire would like to introduce you to Mel Nieves, Author of W.A.C IraqAs a playwright his work has been presented by the Downtown Urban Theatre Festival (2005-2008), Repertorio Espanol (2006-2007), LAByrinth Theatre Company's Summer Intensive Workshops at both The Saratoga Performing Arts Center (2001-2003) & Bennington College (2005-2008), his play "Tours Of Duty" was co-winner for the best short play award at the 2005 Downtown Urban theatre Festival.
In 2006 he received the Brooklyn Arts Council's NYC Department of Cultural Affairs Award for his theatre project "Voices From The Front. His play "Midnight Mass" was a third place winner for the 2006 Metlife Foundation Nuestra Voces National Playwrights Competition. As a teaching artist he has worked with many arts in education organization bringing theatre and the creative arts to public schools through-out New York's inner cities.
Last weekend, his play "Midnight Mass" was a finalist in the Breath of Fire New Works Festival.

Mel Nieves
Born and raised in New York City. He is a graduate of the William Esper Studios and is a proud long time member of the award winning LAByrinth Theatre Company (artistic directors Phillip Seymour Hoffman & John Ortiz). As an actor he has worked with LAByrinth Theatre Company, INTAR Theatre, Luna Stage, Public Theatre, and the Ridiculous Theatrical Company (under the artistic direction of Everett Quinton). Stage work as actor includes “Elliot, A Soldier’s Fugue”, “Short Eyes”, “365 Plays/365 Days”, “Bent”.
Most recently completed a leading role in the independent feature film “The Children Of Hip-Hop” written and directed by Antonio Dela Cruz. As a playwright his work has been presented by the Downtown Urban Theatre Festival (2005-2008), Repertorio Espanol (2006-2007), LAByrinth Theatre Company’s Summer Intensive Workshops at both The Saratoga Performing Arts Center (2001-2003) & Bennington College (2005-2008), his play “Tours Of Duty” was co-winner for the best short play award at the 2005 Downtown Urban theatre Festival.
