Today I have a full life of family and friends, my Buddhist and recovery sangha. I love spending time with my teenage daughter, and enjoy movies, music, clubbing, shopping, eating out, reading, and exploring Sydney. I also like surfing the net, visiting my favourite blogs, and corresponding and chatting with new and old online friends.
Music
Aside from just about every gay cliche that you can think of, my taste in music is actually quite varied. I pretty much enjoy everything from rock and pop, to indie, alternative, hip-hop, and even punk and metal. About the only thing I am not a fan of is country and western music.
Movies
Fight Club, Troy, Kill Bill, American Beauty, Star Wars and Lord of the Rings. I also love Vampire movies, and enjoy a wide selection of Queer Cinema (some of my favourites there are Priscilla, The Broken Hearts Club, Latter Days and Mambo Italiano).
Television
Some of my favourite shows are Queer as Folk, OC, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Big Brother, Beverley Hills 90210, Melrose, This Life, Secret Life of Us, Mile High, Desperate Housewives, Supernatural, Absolutely Fabulous and Will and Grace.
About me: G'day! If you had told me in my mid twenties that I was to become an openly gay, tattooed, vegeterian, sober and clean, practising Buddhist I would have thought you were mad. Yet this is exactly where I now happily find myself, a 42 year old Aussie guy living in a trendy inner-city suburb of Sydney, Australia.
Although I have been sober & clean since July 1992, I certainly still know how to have a good time! Its still only a late night if I am home after dawn. And yeah, I am both a practising Buddhist AND a practising homosexual. I suppose that makes me a bit of a dharma queen ;-)
I'm vegeterian. I like animals, just hate plants - lol. I got my first tattoo's in 2001, but I now have five (see photo's). Three are tribals, two are Japanese kanji. And no, it didn't hurt. I also have two piercings. Ditto!
So sober, but love to party. I'm spiritual, but enjoy the material. Live simply, yet still love to shop. Contradictions ... fun huh?
