***** BLIND SUMMIT VOTED WINNERS ON XFM *****
Blind Summit were selected as one of 3 featured unsigned acts on XFm, and were voted winners by listners to the Music:Response show. DJ Martin Bate hailed us as, "clear winners...another accolade for a band that are already turning heads..." Thanks to everyone that voted for us - we're all really chuffed with the win, especially given the level of competition.

******** ABOUT BLIND SUMMIT ********
Hey peoples.. we couldn't think how to describe ourselves, so here's what the Scotsman had to say:
We... "trade in a funkier strain of rock, punctuated by technical fireworks galore: tight rolling drums, effect laden guitar workouts and even the odd tastefully clipped bass solo"
-Malcolm Jack
After a pretty busy 2007 so far, we're busy writing and recording new material before a volley of gigs starting with the Edinburgh Festival. On top of the new material, we're also considering a second run of our previous ep which has now simply run out but still seems to be in demand. It was on the basis of this recording that we were voted winners of Potential Energy 2006 set up by Project Scotland for unsigned Scottish artists. Here's what some of the judges said:
"Distinctive sound, especially the vocals…nice guitar lines running throughout…" - Michael MacLennan, The Herald
Clear winners" - Stuart Nisbet, Unique Events
"A chunk of something [people] can remember. Nice vocals and great drumming. Really got an idea of dynamics. Nice one!"- Mark Robertson, Music Editor, The List
@ Stills Gallery (Cockburn Street) 7pm-10pm tickets £4 on the door / cheap beer!
The Declining Winter is a new musical project led by Richard Vincent Adams, co-founder of leftfield musical pioneers Hood - influenced by Low, The Durutti Column and York City FC.
Skip your tea for the magnificent, synth-laden 7VWWVW (aka MAMMAL), and Doogie Paul of James Yorkston and the Athletes upright bass infamy.
Not at Henry's but that's where some of us will be, and thought it might be of some relevance around here (well, at least to folk who are into garage / beat / psychedelic stuff)...
Once described, "as political as Noam Chomsky, as dirty as 2 Live Crew and as emotionally fragile as a young girl's diary entry", Canadian post-rap sensation Bleubird makes a rare UK appearance as part of his ongoing European tour, bringing with him a provocative spectacle of humour and social commentary, smashed together into a sloppy package of finesse and undeniable energy.
Support comes in the shape of Newcastle based, indie-hop electro-folksters, Dogtanion and local free-ambient outer-limit crunk heroes, Sileni.
