I formed my solo project, Black Wax Machine, about 5 years ago. At first, it was intended as a more user-friendly version of my three parts: experimental music, blues music, and indie/folk music. There was never an intention to be anything but instrumental music.
I really didn't know what direction to go early on. I was bouncing back and forth between folk and blues a lot.
But as we sit here in 2005, Black Wax Machine is now my major project. It's where I put all my musical time and energy. Now, Black Wax is indie-folk-rock-experimental and anything in between. At present, I have more of an idea of what my sound is. It's growing more and more complex as time moves forward. I am adding more instruments and more sounds to the mix.
