About me:
"A, this is Bill," and I'm just doin' the level best best I can with the cards I've been dealt. Being related to Daniel Boone helps me set my sights high, and gives me something to aim for...I have had a very, very interesting life and I guess everyone does in many ways...... I am a career musician, and in the words of the "Oracle of Atlanta Pro Percussion", "The Hammer", Ed Hamrick, "Nothing would make me happier!" This summer I will have been a drummer/percussionist for 40 years. I play Gretsh toms and bass, Ludwig and Pearl, Gretsch, and Slingerland snare drums, and use Aquarian, Remo, Evans, and Ludwig drumheads. I use Zildjian, Sabian, and Wuhan cymbals, Vic Firth and Zildjian sticks, Toca, LP, Rhythm Tech, and various other various percussion, and Tama, Remo, Pearl, Ludwig, Yahama, Rogers, DW, Yahama, LP,and Gibraltar hardware. My first percussion instrument? It was a simple maple drum- a 5 by 14" six lug white marine pearl wrapped (the wrap cracked eventually) die cast hooped wide and deep snare bedded Gretsch snare drum, with a round badge. I let that one go when I lived in Tampa, Fla., along with my first kit- a red sparkle Sears "Kingston" 4-peice that my folks bought for me used in 1966 for $100US. What a great Christmas gift that was. It changed everything in my world. What followed was school band, plays, bands, and college. I have been in more than 100 bands to date, and I look forward to the next 100. I also teach at Atlanta Pro Percussion. There is always room for a few more good students. You can find out more about the lessons, at this site- http://www.atlantapropercussion.com/DOTWpages/DOTWmainpages/lessons.html. APP is also on myspace- myspace.com/alantapropercussion, is single, andis a Capricorn.........I want to continue with my "ecclectric" big band "SHIRKUS MAXIMUS'. Previous shows included guitar wiz Eric Austin, of Murphy N.C. (The Eric Austin Band), "The Amazing Wilson Brothers", Brian Wilson and Mark Wilson (Steel Horses), not of the Beach Boys (from Stockbridge, Ga., "Magic Bass" Charlie Wooton (Zydefunk, Coop Deville, Endangered Species, Joie da Vie), and "Yo Now" Ben Rogers (Bad House Tears) at Jake's Roadhouse/Toadhouse (now Club 29). We will be keeping with the tradition established by the ecclectric big bands; The Howard Sprague Fusion, Little Leon Sweat, Frank Zappa, Col. Bruce Hampton, ret., The Zambiland Orchestra, et cetera. I will endeaver to offer great players with lots of the freedom of expression that we all enjoy. I'll keep everyone posted on this, too. "Happy Trails...".

Hi,

When you get a chance please stop by and listen to my new song "The Promise" and let me know what you think.

Its still in very rough first draft format, but I'd like to know what my fans think about it before I put a real studio quality version together.

Thanks,
