Figure eight......
is double four.
Figure four, is half of eight.......
If you skate, you would be great,
If you could make a figure eight.
That's a circle that turns 'round upon itself.
One times eight is two times four.
Four times four is two times eight.
If you skate upon thin ice,
You'd be wise, if you looked twice
Before you made another single move.
One times eight is eight, two times eight is 16....
Three times eight is 24, four times eight is 32......
And five times eight is 40, you know...
If you skate, you would be great,
If you could make a figure eight.
That's a circle that turns 'round upon itself.......
Place it on its side and it's a symbol meaning infinity

Is there a way to buy a CD somewhere, or a chance to see live in germany?
we are sooo tickled to have met you! so much fun the other night. I've begun gathering the necessary fabric and tools for the BBonnet yay!!! will send pics. would love to play again anytime. your city or ours. happy new 2008
What a pity that I live so far away. Otherwise I surely would listen to you at "Joe's Pub" and "Hamfest", too. I guess I would get goose bumps while listening and seeing you... :-)
Thank you for the add, Beth. My daddy first heard your music as a reporter for The Island Ear on Long Island. He fell in love with your sound ("River Run" got him through a particularly tough time in his life), and was thrilled to discover 9 Songs, One Story. You continue to soothe and inspire!
Last week a drunk chrashed his into my car and totally wrecked it. Today I had an accident with my bike. Wrong place, wrong time. Anyway I'm listening to "9 songs" .. it helps. Sigh.
Beth, thanks for the add. I've been a big fan since ~1993. I remember when S,T! played at Sin-e in 1995 for about 15 people (all that could fit in there), it was one of those shows I'll remember forever. The new stuff is great too!
I told my future mother-in-law about your awesomeness and she picked up Nine Songs on emusic and loves it. We'll keep checking your myspace page for Philly dates or NYC dates we can make it out to!
Rock rock on, Beth!
Sincerely,
Bill from the soon-to-be-disbanded Philadelphia piano-pop duo Almost Awake
(Lauren's soldiering on, I'm looking for an entirely different direction. If you'd like, you can check out her solo stuff at http://www.myspace.com/laurendepino)
That was about the quietest album release I've ever seen! Congrats on Nine Songs, One Story, Beth -- "Very Bad Today" and "Tighten My Grip" seem particularly magical this morning.
Is there a chance we`ll see all the songs of the "lost" S, T! record - piece by piece here? That would not hold me back from buying the whole thing anyway, as I still like a real CD, compared with a mere burnt one. Whipping Boy (Ireland) did buy back their first CD from the label and re-released it themselves. But WarnerBros could be stingy...sigh. If I were stinking rich I´d buy the recordings back for you as a gift.
A big kiss to the lady whose songs make me nearly cry - from joy.
hey beth! thank you for the very sweet message! i'm so glad you enjoyed the short, and i can't say it enough.... it was that beautiful song that inspired it all to begin with. i hope to work on more things together - you are a unique artist and your words are sheer poetry. thanks for sharing your music with us!!
Hi, Beth! Ever since our friend Yvette Waidley introduced me to Suddenly, Tammy your music has held a special place for me. I would liken it to bringing me someplace where I feel alone in a good way- surrounded by the sort of inner comforts that come from poetry, nature, and the best music when it speaks to you. It was also great meeting you at FMU when you were on Irwin's show and I was cleaning up after finishing my program. The new recordings are fantastic, and I really hope that more of your songs will be my friends in the future. I hope all is well, and thank you for creating!
I've been a fan since I heard Suddenly Tammy! I look forward to catching one of your shows soon. Thanks for befriending a yodeling banjo player.
Yours Cordially,
Curtis

There are days where I have to remind myself, "Hey, you know, there is other music, too!" "Yo, but this CD I made with all the various pieces of Beth solo I culled from the net is just so ...perfect for repeat."
I have two bands I play to everyone i know. Suddenly, Tammy! (this includes the various other songs of Beth Sorrentino) and Grand Tone Music (from Sweden). In a perfect world, Beth would have a star named after her. Music, it doesn't get better than this.
Beth: If you ever need help - call, write, whatever. So far i can only offer the best of my heart and as much free studiotime you would want.
won't be able to make it this friday as am in williamstown, but break a leg. super excited for you. miss you much. maybe wanna come visit and relax for a day or two before getting back to the grind at the end of the summer? xoxo. a.
Hi, I'm sure you're tired of people telling how brilliant "We Get there When We Do" is. But it is. I've been listening to it on repeat for about a week now. One of my mates had it, God, nearly 10 years ago, and I heard it and liked it, but never got round to getting it, then I woke up a few weeks ago with "Mark of Man" in my head and tracked it down and now I keep listening to it. All the best, Paul.
I'm so glad I found this site. Your music has always been a source of peace for me. So happy that there are new things to hear! I'll spread the good word.
Intimate and beautiful music which makes a beeline for the heart. Perfect for a rainy Sunday afternoon curled up in front of a fireplace with the dog. Alas, I have no dog and no fireplace. Got plenty of rainy Sundays, though!
i love the music - super excited for future gigs. hope you're planning on playing in williamstown last weekend in july. coffee's on me tomorrow morning.
xo
The Myspace player is working for me now. Supergreat!! :-)
You've got a lot of cool harmonic things going on in these tunes. These songs are just awesome... Are you selling these tracks anywhere online or in a brick-and-mortar record store?
This is a silly little question, but I have to ask: what kind of piano are you using on these recordings?
WGTWWD is one of my all-time favorites. I was really looking forward to Comet. Any chance we'll ever get to hear that?
It's really cool that now my 5 year-old daughter is digging your new songs. Please keep us updated whenever you can. Just want you to know you're appreciated.
