First things first: Yes, this little bit of text is about me, and... No, I won't be referring to myself in the third person as if I were someone else writing about me. Thanks in advance for taking the time to find out a little bit about me and my current project when you could be off reading something much more interesting like Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, any Jack Chalker novel that involves Nathan Brazil, or something by Noam Chomsky.
All songs heard here (at this time) are written/performed/and very badly produced by me, Benny.
Instrument and Software use includes: Guitar, Bass, Drum Machine, Keyboard (the old XP-10), Propellerhead's Reason Synths and Sequencers, Cool Edit (now Adobe Audition), Audacity, Hammerhead Rhythm Station, numerous scrap-built computers, $5 internet mics, etc. (Links for the aforementioned applications can be found on the left)
Some songs found here are elderly; please pardon the production values as I work to record and master newer versions. If you would like to listen to more of my songs than are currently available on myspace, you may visit my profile @ TalkAsheville where I have no limit on the amount of songs that I can upload. I am currently in the process of acquiring new gear for my home studio, and I'm working with a few friends in the interim to get my vocal tracks recorded again in order to replace some of the songs you hear... here. Feel free to add me to your friends list, individuals and bands alike, and subscribe to my friend updates for notifications of my new song uploads, image uploads, and blog posts.
Also, if you are a musician seeking to collaborate on individual tracks or album projects (regardless of genre), either in person (local to Asheville, NC), or via e-mail, feel free to send me a message. I am open to performing backing vocals for studio sessions, providing a counterpoint for songwriting sessions, rhythm guitar - bass - midi sequencing for either of the aforementioned, or just general bull sessions. If you're a musician, or simply a fan of music in general, I'm sure we can find something to talk about.
Finally, I am seeking a bass player, a keyboard wizard, a guitar player, and at least one backing singer in the Asheville/Western North Carolina region with which to form a live unit which will perform my music. On Saturday, August 2nd OddSTAR will be competing in Musician's Workshops Music Showcase during RiverLinks Rockin' RiverFest!
