i'm sorry but "She said-Im not a girl you put on at a stand by I am a girl who demands that her love is amplified Switch in to overdrive-woh oh woh"
Absolute genius. The multiple metaphors in that passage alone proves that 'wired for sound' is an amazing lyrical work.
anyway, my next contribution
my favourite bit is at about 2.23... the phrase 'what about me' not sung as semiquavers but instead slightly back triplets... provocative!! but you know, thats our shannon... standing up for the little people...
it just struck me how much a certain person would love what we are doing right now. Actively listening to, searching out and sharing music we dislike and i daresay in many ways dont understand... I can feel my imagination expanding by the second as i listen to this kind of stuff, cant you??
holy shit i love the fact that you found that so much!
my favourite things about that are - the fact that once the main chick is married she can no longer sing... oh how i hearken for the good old days when women couldn't be married AND work....
- the fact that charlie mingus isn't on that trailer yet we're supposed to instantly recognise the beautiful sounds of 'johnny dankworth'
hey man, i'd love to c you at the spot on the 5th, its going to be a really huge gig, i've arranged a 4pce horn section (including tunes such as 'i wish' and 'move on up', but i wont say more...) it'd be really cool if you came down...
Man i just listened to lets get intimate, i think its taken till now to actually realize the HUGE amount of time and effort we both put in to create that beautiful beast. It was a pleasure to work, or should i say sing, with you. hahaha
There was an album released only a couple of years back called "Larry and Lee", with Larry Carlton and Lee Ritenour. I really like that album, plus of course - the stuff I've seen on youtube of the two playing together :P. Both have an incredibly laid back approach and amazing tone... Great playing.
I haven't really checked out steve khan to be honest... I only discovered the name recently. Still looking for stuff of his.
I see you're a Donald Fagen and Walter Becker fan. Did you happen to see them when they came out for the first (and probably last) time? They have a llllot of great tunes.
hey man vital organ eh? gonna be there and square and without a care, on, wait for it...a chair. anyway, im basically requesting you do a solo for me. like dedicated... but it doesnt stop there, you go and then there's a three way solo battle over me with the brassy brass and the choppy sloppy fingerpressing and the shredding of course, jazz shred. anyway it keeps going untill amps are cut off.... that is my request. and you perform naked. no the whole band. just you. Newde. nah kidding. obviously that;d be silly. and wierd
Hey, just giving you and your mates the heads that this years' Launch Your Band comp closes in just one week. It’s a great opportunity to get your music out there. Hurry up if you haven’t entered or voted! There are great prizes up for grabs!
Man, can we play Day Train together some time? With drum n bass of course. I absolutely love that song. I am listening to it now. I am quite literally filled with joy! I actually think an energetic dx7 rhodes solo would sounds marvelous on it. Don't dismiss it straight away, seriously think about that. It would work.
hey there, thanks for the add! you sound great bro. you melbourne guys are making great jazz noises!! you have got a great pat metheneyish sound going on.
Are you a fan of james muller? i think that guy is a killer aus musician.
Umm... yeah, sure. Maybe group the purple emerald ones together and then the one at dont tell tom. not sure what time the emerald gigs are... maybe say 8? You got any idea when they are? But yeah, the sooner the better if possible.
hey ben, why didnt you come to the booze cruise?!! its was great fun, would have been a good chance to catch up. well i guess i might run into you at vca one tuesday afternoon....all the best
Hey ben, We have a gig coming up on the 18th of April. And we are just wondering if Vital Organ want to play there after us? It's at a venue called Don't Tell Tom. and it will be rad. It's a Friday night in Brunswick st. Too good to pass down? The Mothertones are playing a set without the singer so yeah...you guys want to play after? Wb. Miles.
