I have lived in Jamaica for the past ten years, working mostly in Education at the Primary,High School and Tertiary levels. In 2002 to 2004 was a temporary Director of Dance Studies at The Edna Manley College for the Visual and Performing Arts. During that time I worked with the Ministry of Health to formulate to the island wide 'Healthy Lifestyles' Dance competition. I also developed a Preliminary Qualifying Programme for the School of Dance.
In 2004 -2005 I received a Post Graduate award from the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus in order to work towards a PhD in Cultural Studies. At this time I have put the academic work on hold for a while.
Most recently I have been the Specialist in Special Educational Needs within the mainstrean school at St. George's College on North Street, Kingston.

I now begin a new venture doing what I do best, Alternative Education in downtown Kingston in the country I love more than cooked food... Sweet Sweet Jamaica.I am working on keeping fit so I can do this great choreography!!!

We tired to go to Aba Shanti, because i knew it would be a good one, but they have new safety regulations, when an area gets too crowded, they corden off the street and stop anymore people going down there! we did find some good ones though and a good time was had all round really! sending you lots of love, thinking about you today. big hug, yvette xxx
we had a really fun day! grayson liked it so much that we will probably go back tomorrow, he wants to check out some more sound systems and get some more bass! we ate some burned sweetcorn, rice & peas, coleslaw, patties, dumpling, chicken (i ate chicken) and grayson had a red stripe and i had some grape soda! we have to find some plantain tomorrow! x
Hi Mummy, just to let you know that we are thinking of you. getting ready to go and trudge around west london in the rain! Grayson is djing at a pub on all saints road, so that should be fun! we are going to try and eat lots of nice food and hopefully not get too wet! i will try and take some pictures. lots of love yvette xxx
