Pffff, what kind of a question is that?
Since i used to be a piano player, and house was not my first love (rock 'n' roll was hehe) my history has a lot of influences in the 'traditional' music styles.
I still do not discard music styles just because its different from electronic, I still love reggae, dub, funk, blues, rock and even a lot of pop and hiphop these days has its moments. I guess those old influences still play a big part in the way I perceive and want to combine different sounds and flavours into my music, it is too much to list all the old school heroes that everybody knows already (beatles, hendrix, doors etc..etc..)
Electronically however might be more interesting here. My first love was ambient, then came techno, then trance then Goa evolving into fullon Psy, and lately I am more into the progressive styles of psy as well as electro.
Influence in all these areas amongst a lot of others consist of Future Sound of London, The Orb, Underworld, Chemical Brothers, Plastikman, Aphex Twin, Atmos, Cosmosis, Transwave, Hallucinogen/Sphongle, Vibrasphere, HuxFlux, Element, Magnetrixx, Logic Bomb, Juno Reactor, Eat Static, Cosma, Sun Project, Son Kite, Psyside, Psysex, Orbital and still many many more, I gotta quit this madness... ;)
Influences outside the musical genre consists of those movies that will psyche you up so that energy is litterally forcing itself outside after watching them. Furthermore, the parties, the festivals, the people, proper 'usage' and the nature and my friends surrounding it all.

I prefer to think of it as Progressive Funk embedded in Psy, but hey, take a listen yourself, it's right up there on the right hand corner of the page ;)
I am Bas van Driel, live in the Netherlands and have been producing psy-trance for several years now. I have been travelling through other types of electronic music before this (ambient, techno, trance etc...), and even before that I've been exploring myself in local bands as a keys-player (piano, Rhodes, Hammond etc..)..
I love the psytrance when its showing all the facets of the human mind with all its complex emotions and thoughts. So a track may go from dark and sinister to spooky with funk and from melody to funny, but is always intending to 'shift perspectives' in someone's mind...
Currently really into progressive, and also doing some other type of music composing (acoustic, ambient and such)....however, this site is for the fast-paced tracks I am writing at home.... I hope you can feel them...
