Banshee Records began in 1994 as a cassette tape label. Ah, those were the days of rewind and fast-forward! The idea behind our label was that of a cooperative; we help you, you help us. Our main goal was to help get exposure to bands and music and to give the music an outlet to see the light of day and to reach its fans, regardless of sound quality, expensive equipment, fancy money for studio time, genre, and any of that other red tape that barred bands from getting heard for so long. Now with the accessibility of music on the internet, major record labels are not as necessary, but co-op labels are still here to help give you exposure to those who might not hear you otherwise. With so many outlets for music out there these days, one more method of exposure to thousands of people just really can't hurt.
And we provide that outlet. It's actually quite simple: send us your music, and we put you on compilations that are heard by thousands of people. It's free; it's easy. We sell those compilations, as well as send them to radio stations, podcasts, record labels, and reviewers worldwide. We give you a free band profile on our website; and we include your songs for download on our website [if you choose], profile songs on this myspace site [if you choose], and podcasts of our own. We also create free advertisements, some free merchandise, free band shows in our local area, and all kinds of free exposure through various outlets. In addition to this, we have discounted prices on all sorts of promotional products, merchandise, and wholesale purchasing rates. You can buy the compilations from us at a wholesale rate and sell them for any price you choose [although they cannot be sold on the internet for lower than our list price]. We also pay you royalties for all downloads, merchandise, and compilations sold, paid quarterly. So what's the catch? There isn't one. It's free for you. We front the costs AND pay you AND do all the work for you. Why do we do it? Well, we rock... that is why.
