Sounds Like
"All they do is throw bananas at each other and fall down. It's an avant-garde thing that I do NOT wanna pay to see." - Some dude overheard outside of Linneman's
"The Archies get fucked up and party!" - Shaun A
"The Kastenetz/Katz sound run through a magical hot dog smashing machine..." - Todd Killings
"FUCK YEAH! Some fun shit! These songs are hits...Ya hear me...I said HITS BABY, HITS!" - Dale Merrill
Thanks. You come here we will play a show with you. We will help set them up. Tacoma, Portland, Olympia, Seattle, Bremerton, Eugene, you name it. We go there, you play shows with us. Deal?
JonE of Arch: Yeah, i did a quick zip-thru of the Lancelot Link music and didn't find the song i was looking for...so, on the bright side, there's at least one song from the show that didn't make it to vinyl, and lays inert, waiting for discovery. Then again, that's kind of bullshit. "If i was a skipper, of a super clipper, if i was the captain of an aeroplane..." I don't know what the song is called but that's the first line. Did not get the Archies DVD yet, i am so backed up on DVDs -- got about two years of the Simpsons, Lancelot Link, the Wacky Races...i just don't have time to watch all this shit, so i figure i can tell my brother to get it for me for christmas or something. I truly *hope* the Archies DVDs have all the goofy little dance songs like "Do The Hamburger" or "Do The Veronica Walk" because those are the best! Once i had a semi-conspiracy worked out with Metal Mike, because he knew someone who worked at Filmation or whatever, and figured this dude had access to the old shows, so we were gonna wheel and deal and see if we could get those songs ((either audio or video)) slapped together on a commando-style Archies home bootleg, but that never materialized. Now i guess i have to find some chimp trainer and see if they have access to the dum-deedly song about the aeroplanes. Don't have the Josie DVD, but i always thought Melody was pretty much the hottest rock chick ever, maybe. Certainly the hottest blonde. I met Dan DeCarlo in 2002, a few years before he died -- he was the classic Archie/Josie artist of the mid/late 60's thru the 70's, and Josie is theoretically modeled after his real life wife, Josie, whom i also met. I asked him about the CUB 45 he did the cover art for. PUNK!
Greetings! I trust Adam put the condoms i flung on stage to good use that night. If not, i'm sure they'll keep for his holiday in Cambodia. 1) I must correct myself; Depo-Provera did not start playing "Teaser" live until 1988 or 1989, so there was no way we could have played it in the 1987 WAPL Battle of the Bands ((i think i was thinking of the Munsters theme, which we also covered)). Apparently "Teaser" was not the reason i got lit on fire in Fond du Lac after we won the first round there... 2) The Lancelot Link & The Evolution Revolution song i actually most want to cover is "Rolling in the Clover" 3) I think my fave LL&TER song is actually not on the album, it's the one that goes "dum deeedly, dum dum deeedly, dum deeedly deeedly dum." I bought the DVD set but haven't watched it yet, so i hope it's on there somewhere. 4) I have the "Sha-La Love You" 45 on my jukebox 5) I used to have a Lancelot Link coloring book and a Colorforms set when i was in kindergarten or first grade. 6) Again, how odd that you should cover "Teaser."
