About me:
Who I'd like to meet:

About Me

Oh, you've got green eyes; oh, you've got blue eyes; oh, you've got grey eyes... no, I've never met anyone quite like you before.

First and foremost, I am probably one of the most keen persons on honesty that you will meet. I don't believe in cultural social norms that embrace lying or sugar-coating for reasons of politeness, where we act or say the opposite of how we feel in order to maintain the image of the ideal sociable person. I will make no attempts to pretend that I'm amused by you or interested in you as a person if I am not, so insecurities with me are pointless.

If I dislike you, you will know. If I like you, you will also know--as I will give no obvious reason to suggest otherwise. People are not my interest in life, so lack of the enthusiasm you'd expect from most during our conversations isn't hint to anything other than the fact that I'm an introvert.
I have little to no concern for molding myself so that I wedge neatly in to some corner of the social-strata, and the conceptions of others on me is something that I fail to pay attention to entirely. Socializing is only something I do for the occasional necessity of identifying with another human being, and the occasional joy of finding people that I respect and appreciate.

I live in my head, thus my pursuits are solitary ones. Knowledge is what brings me my daily amusement and joy; the ability to interpret that knowledge, form ideas through its influence, and convey it through various mediums of art is what drives me. I write, I play, I paint, I draw, I design. I love art and education in all forms, and I'm always expanding on what I've already familiarized myself with. I'm also a huge Internet dork.

Music is my main hobby. Particularly, I love to dissect as many music genres as I can find. My taste is eclectic, as I'm always finding new music to listen to… I love both to give and receive recommendations. Old or new, obscure or mainstream; I believe there is something good to be taken from every corner of the music world if you are only willing to look.

As I have thus far made clear, I am a solitary person. I do not separate my personal self from my social self, and find the entire concept of it alien in others as much as in myself. I can be a little misanthropic and cynical at times, but I believe very firmly in individualism, and my overall outlook on life is a positive one.
I don't bite, and meeting new people (although not my favorite pastime) with traits that are genuinely interesting to me, regardless of how well their own beliefs and opinions match up to mine, can amuse me. When I do find myself fascinated by others, I become very interested in how they function. So, if you find me interesting, feel free to drop me a line… (the last name to add me is: Wenner) if not, I promise not to lose any sleep over it.

PS: If you want to talk to me for sexually motivated purposes, then I'll tell you right now to fuck off, because I'm not interested. If you choose not to head or read this warning, then I promise that after I reject you I will use your dignity as a dishtowel to wipe up any shreds of manhood that might still be stuck inside the sink.

Quotes

Nonconformity; right... I can't remember the last time saw a twenty something kid with a tattoo of an Asian letter on his wrist. You are one wicked free thinker! You want to be a rebel; stop being cool. Wear a pocket protector like he does, and get a hair cut, like the Asian kids that don't leave the library for a twenty hours stretch. They're the ones that don't care what you think. — House M.D.

I guess for a very long time, because of my own religious upbringing and how I came to view organized religion, I was kind of dead set against it. The past couple of years now, I've come to realize that by doing that, I was just doing the same thing that I didn't like about these organized religions. I was going to the other extreme and basically following the same rule, just under a different title. — Rozz Williams

Once upon a time, in some out of the way corner of that universe which is dispersed into numberless twinkling solar systems, there was a star upon which clever beasts invented knowing. That was the most arrogant and mendacious minute of world history, but nevertheless, it was only a minute. After nature had drawn a few breaths, the star cooled and congealed, and the clever beasts had to die. —One might invent such a fable, and yet he still would not have adequately illustrated how miserable, how shadowy and transient, how aimless and arbitrary the human intellect looks within nature. There were eternities during which it did not exist. And when it is all over with the human intellect, nothing will have happened. For this intellect has no additional mission which would lead it beyond a human life. Rather, it is human, and only its possessor and begetter takes it so solemnly—as though the world's axis turned within it. But if we could communicate with the gnat, we would learn that he likewise flies through the air with the same solemnity, that he feels the flying center of the universe within himself. There is nothing so reprehensible and unimportant in nature that it would not immediately swell up like a balloon at the slightest puff of this power of knowing. And just as every porter wants to have an admirer, so even the proudest of men, the philosopher, supposes that he sees on all sides the eyes of the universe telescopically focused upon his action and thought. It is remarkable that this was brought about by the intellect, which was certainly allotted to these most unfortunate, delicate, and ephemeral beings merely as a device for detaining them a minute within existence. — Friedrich Nietzsche

I'm so sick of people who think that art has to be beautiful and pleasing to the eye. Art can be beautiful but at the same time it can be scary, grotesque and frightening. It doesn't make it less valuable. If people are scared or shocked, they should question why, rather than seek reactionary censorship. — Marilyn Manson

The imagination is not a State: it is the Human existence itself. — William Blake

I am thumbprint on the window of a skyscraper. I'm a smudge of excrement on a tissue surging out to sea with a million tons of raw sewage. — Charles Bukowski

In the sense of that personal answer. What you feel in the presence of a thing you admire is just one word--'Yes.' The affirmation, the acceptance, the sign of admittance. And that 'Yes' is more than an answer to one thing, it's a kind of 'Amen' to life, to the earth that holds this thing, to the thought that created it, to yourself for being able to see it. But the ability to say 'Yes' or 'No' is the essence of all ownership. It's your ownership of your own ego. Your soul, if you wish. Your soul has a single basic function--the act of valuing. 'Yes' or 'No,' 'I wish' or 'I do not wish.' You can't say 'Yes' without saying 'I.' There's no affirmation without the one who affirms. In this sense, everything to which you grant your love is yours. ... When I listen to a symphony I love, I don't get from it what the composer got. His 'Yes' was different from mine. He could have no concern for mine and no exact conception of it. That answer is too personal to each man. But in giving himself what he wanted, he gave me a great experience. I'm alone when I design a house, Gail, and you can never know the way in which I own it. But if you said your own 'Amen' to it--it's also yours... — Ayn Rand

Self-love, my liege, is not so vile a sin as self-neglect. — William Shakespeare

No. I hate vampires. You know, people who think they are a vampire. Here is my challenge, let me walk up to you and shoot you in the chest. No wait, shoot you in the head to stay away from the heart, with a lead bullet, not silver or anything, just regular lead. And if you continue to live, I will believe you are a vampire. People then say, Well, I'm not that kind of vampire. What do you mean, can you die!? You can't turn into a bat, you can't control the weather, then what the fuck is the point of being a vampire if you have no special powers? You're just a regular person, FUCK OFF! So I don't believe any of that shit, you know. If someone walks up to you and shoots you in the face and you live, Woo, I'll be excited. Wow, a vampire! Rock on! Otherwise, it's a load of shit because they have no special powers. Just because you have fangs and drink blood, so what? I can drink piss. Who cares? — Madonna Wayne Gacy

The design of this death is there so that one can exceed oneself by the assertion of our desires, our instincts and our impulses. — Friedrich Nietzsche

Learning is to a man as the leaves and branches are to a tree, and it can be said that he should not be without it. Learning is not only reading books, however, but is rather something that we study to integrate with our own way of life. — Takeda Shingen

Even blurred vision is valued by the blind. — American McGee's Alice

In the Bible, the word Antichrist is only used as a description of people who don't believe in the teachings of Jesus of Nazareth. He is not described as one satanic entity - as the beast of Revelation which many people believe - but as a person, any person, who deviates from the Christian orthodoxy. But through years of myth-making and fear sowing, Christianity metamorphosed antichrists into a single Antichrist, an apocalyptic villain and bogeyman used to scare people as much as Santa Claus is used to regulate children's behavior. After years of studying the concept, I began to realize that the Antichrist is a character - a metaphor ... The apocalypse doesn't have to be fire and brimstone. It could happen on a personal level. If you believe you're the center of your own universe and you want to see the universe destroyed, it only takes one bullet. — Marilyn Manson

And where does he now exist? Is this gentle and lovely being lost for ever? Has this mind, so replete with ideas, imaginations fanciful and magnificent, which formed a world, whose existence depended on the life of its creator;--has the mind perished? Does it now only exist in my memory? No, it is not thus; your form so divinely wrought, and beaming with beauty, has decayed, but your spirit still visits and consoles your unhappy friend. — Mary Shelley

Shotgunning anybody in this room would be the moral equivalent of killing a car, a vacuum cleaner, a Barbie doll. Erasing a computer disk. Burning a book. Probably that goes for killing anyone in the world. We're all such products. — Chuck Palahniuk

He tried to explain and to convince. He knew, while he spoke, that it was useless, because his words sounded as if they were hitting a vacuum. There was no such person as Mrs. Wayne Wilmot; there was only a shell containing the opinions of her friends, the picture post cards she had seen, the novels of country squires she had read; it was this that he had to address, this immateriality which could not hear him or answer, deaf and impersonal like a wad of cotton. — Ayn Rand

I felt a gratuitous urge, as I often do with such people, to shake her and scream the truth in her face: You're a useless, ugly piece of meat. Your life has been desperate and abominable so far, and it's only going to get worse. Stop fucking kidding yourself. — Irvine Welsh

The surest way to corrupt a youth is to instruct him to hold in higher esteem those who think alike than those who think differently. — Friedrich Nietzsche

...a traveller's life is one that includes much pain amidst its enjoyments. His feelings are for ever on the stretch; and when he begins to sink into repose, he finds himself obliged to quit that on which he rests in pleasure for something new, which again engages his attention, and which also he forsakes for other novelties. — Mary Shelley

I'm not here for your amusement. You're here for mine. — Johnny Rotten

'Religion!' said St. Clare, in a tone that made both ladies look at him. 'Religion! Is what you hear at church, religion? Is that which can bend and turn, and descend and ascend, to fit every crooked phase of selfish, worldly society, religion? Is that religion which is less scrupulous, less generous, less just, less considerate for man, than even my own ungodly, worldly, blinded nature? No! When I look for a religion, I must look for something above me, and not something beneath.' — Harriet Beecher Stowe

I couldn't give a toss. There's people all over the world who haven't got enough to eat. Why should I give a fuck about some over-privileged fuckedup Yank who's too screwed up to lift a forkful of scran in to her gub? — Irvine Welsh

We applaud the creation of a bomb whose sole purpose is to destroy all of mankind, and we grow up watching our president's brains splattered all over Texas. Times have not become more violent. They have just become more televised. Does anyone think the Civil War was the least bit civil? If television had existed, you could be sure they would have been there to cover it, or maybe even participate in it, like their violent car chase of Princess Di. Disgusting vultures looking for corpses, exploiting, fucking, filming and serving it up for our hungry appetites in a gluttonous display of endless human stupidity. We're the people who sit back and tolerate children owning guns, and we're the ones who tune in and watch the up-to-the-minute details of what they do with them. I think it's terrible when anyone dies, especially if it is someone you know and love. But what is more offensive is that when these tragedies happen, most people don't really care any more than they would about the season finale of Friends or The Real World. I was dumbfounded as I watched the media snake right in, not missing a teardrop, interviewing the parents of dead children, televising the funerals. Then came the witch hunt. — Marilyn Manson

They must find it difficult... Those who have taken Authority as the truth, rather than truth as the authority. — Gerald Massey

I don't think that people accept the fact that life doesn't make sense. I think it makes people terribly uncomfortable. It seems like religion and myth were invented against that, trying to make sense out of it. — David Lynch

Love is a serious mental disease. — Plato

You could think I'm wrong, but that's no reason to stop thinking. - House M.D.

The TV business is uglier than most things. It is normally perceived as some kind of cruel and shallow money trench through the heart of the journalism industry, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free and good men die like dogs, for no good reason. — Hunter S. Thompson

I do not take drugs. I am drugs. — Salvador Dalí

Disillusioned words like bullets bark
As human gods aim for their mark
Made everything from toy guns that spark
To flesh-colored Christs that glow in the dark
It's easy to see without looking too far
That not much
Is really sacred.
While preachers preach of evil fates
Teachers teach that knowledge waits
Can lead to hundred-dollar plates
Goodness hides behind its gates
But even the president of the United States
Sometimes must have
To stand naked. — Bob Dylan

It's a basic truth of the human condition that everybody lies. The only variable is about what. — House M.D.

Was he an animal if music could captivate him so? It seemed to him that he was being shown the way to the unknown nourishment he had been yearning for. — Franz Kafka

Scully: I actually was thinking about this gift that you gave me for my birthday. You never got to tell me why you gave it to me, or what it means, but I think I know. I think that you appreciate that there are extraordinary men and women, and extraordinary moments when history leaps forward on the backs of these individuals; that what can be imagined can be achieved; that you must dare to dream, but that there's no substitute for preserverance and hard work... and teamwork, because no one gets there alone. And that while we commemorate the greatness of these events and the individuals who achieve them, we cannot forget the sacrifice of those who make these achievements and leaps possible.
Mulder: I just thought it was a cool key-chain. — The X-Files

By this I do not mean that you have not experienced anything in itself as important; on the contrary, your life was much richer and more care-laden and more concentrated than mine, but for that very reason nothing of this sort has happened to you. It is as if one person had to climb five low steps and another person only one step, but one that is, at least for him, as high as all the other five put together; the first person will not only manage the five, but hundreds and thousands more as well, he will have led a great and very strenuous life, but none of the steps he has climbed will have been of such importance to him as for the second person that one, firstly high step, that step which it is impossible for him to climb even by exerting all his strength, that step which he cannot get up on and which he naturally cannot get past either. — Franz Kafka

... And as far as I can see the world is too old for us to talk about it with our new words--We will pass just as quietly through life (passing through, passing through) as the 10th century people of this valley only with a little more noise and a few bridges and dams and bombs that wont even last a million years--The world being just what it is, moving and passing through, actually alright in the long view and nothing to complain about ... — Jack Kerouac

One desperate attempt after another to find something in common with someone else and then cling... ‘Hey, you have ten fingers, I have ten fingers... let's be friends. We'll make rules and slogans then if we find someone with nine fingers we can beat the crap out of them!’ — Dead Like Me

Spoken like a true circle queen. See, skinny socially privileged white people get to draw this neat little circle, and everyone inside the circle is normal. Anyone outside the circle should be beaten, broken and reset so they can be brought into the circle. Failing that, they should be institutionalized or worse, pitied. — House MD

I think I should have no other mortal wants, if I could always have plenty of music. It seems to infuse strength into my limbs and ideas into my brain. Life seems to go on without effort, when I am filled with music. — George Eliot

‘You are destroying yourself,’ he cried. ‘You have the inclination to be alone and to dream and you are afraid of dreams. You want to be like others in town here. You hear them talk and you try to imitate them.’ — Sherwood Anderson

What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: 'tis dearness only that gives everything its value... — Thomas Paine

Music

My taste in music is always progressing, governed by strict, abstract rules, more vast than will allow for me to provide a list, and more diverse than such a list could show. As a result, I'll keep this short and sweet.

A few of my all-time favorites: Marilyn Manson, Tom Waits, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Einsturzende Neubauten, The Damned, The Velvet Underground, Christian Death, The Sisters Of Mercy, The Doors, and David Bowie

A few of my favorite genres: Psychedelic Rock, Glam Rock, Blues, Psychobilly, Anarcho-Punk, Deathrock, Dark Cabaret, Goth Rock, Synth Pop, New Wave, Darkwave, Coldwave, Minimal Wave, Ethereal, Celtic, Neofolk, Traditional Doom Metal, Shoegaze, Dark Ambient, Post-Punk, Ethereal

My music library is constantly growing, and I will listen to anything from bagpipe music to freeform jazz, so chances are that I'll be familiar with most any artist that you can throw at me. If I'm not, then I'm always excited to hear new music. A profile of my listening habits can be found here, and my music library can be found here.

I'd like to think I have at least a little control over my urges.

But in all seriousness, I'd love to decorate my room's walls with some Bethany artwork. After hearing descriptions that my room looks spartan and that my bed looks like a guest bed, I'm thinking the room needs some spicing up.

Thank you, honey. That really did help brighten my day. Only because you are equally awesome.

Although, neither one of us are as awesome as this: [LINK]
