Aurganic extends its roots to the tenth grade of high school in 1999 when two classmates, Leo and Mike, joined a local punk band.
The two quickly got along discovering that both of their fathers were jazz buffs. Despite being in a punk band, they were discussing old jazz rock albums they grew up listening to.Fast forward to 2009. Mike and Leo found themselves living in Toronto and New York respectively. Both led their separate music lives for quite some time, and it would continue so, if Mike didn’t become interested in Leo’s music. Leo was exploring dubstep and heavy synth sounds at the time, posting ideas on his myspace. Mike pictured superimposing his jazzrock/drum’n'bass grooves on Leo’s sound and it seemed like a rich, colorful soundscape. Mike paid Leo a visit in late fall and the two met at a jazz bar. Inspired, they jammed right after. Mike bought an old beat up Ibanez bass in New York and Leo plugged in his Nord synth. … “Bliss Techs” was born in a matter of hours.

Soon, both equipped themselves with recording setups in their living rooms. They found a way to write and produce music via internet while remaining at home. In a year they released a self titled EP. The sound revolved around jazz rock, drum’n'bass, dubstep and big beat. The EP received a good response in the community and created a following.

Determined, the duo set a goal to give birth to the most important piece of music they’ve worked on in their lives. The ambition of a self produced full length album required a lot of work. It was decided to separate the album into two categories: half of the tracks will be experimental instrumental and half will concentrate on songwriting and working with guests vocalists. Mike was actively tapping Toronto’s musical talent looking for the right collaborators. A year later, Aurganic found themselves with a lot of material. Twelve tracks were carefully selected. A lengthy post production process of two perfectionists was finally over by March 2012. “Life As a Canvas” was independently released soon after. With this album Aurganic developed their recognizable sound of blending various genres, live and electronic instruments.

Aurganic are confident that “Life As a Canvas” is destined to create an impact in the world of music. Despite recent release, the works on new material have been initiated. The duo set a goal of prolific music career ahead of them.
