ALL STARS PROTEST RALLY - COME AND BE HEARD! MAY, 28TH @ 4:30PM - CITY HALL
Dear All Stars,
I am inviting you to join the All Stars at City Hall on Wednesday, May 28th at 4:30pm, for a press conference to protest the lack of basic services in the Far Rockaway community in the wake of the tragic events at the Redfern Houses last weekend.
A series of shootings in Far Rockaway over the last two years have claimed the lives of many young people, several of them All Stars members including 15-year-old Brandon Bethea who was shot and killed last Saturday while outside rehearsing with her All Stars dance group.
The All Stars youth programs have been involved in the Far Rockaway community for 20 years, and in the last few days many young people, parents and community leaders have spoken with us about the urgent needs that the community has for basic services, in order to stop the violence and create a safer environment for the residents of Far Rockaway and for its young people in particular. The All Stars Project, which has helped so many neighborhoods to develop in New York City, can’t bring about growth and development in Far Rockaway without the basic needs of the community being met.
So, on Wednesday, May 28th at 4:30pm I’m asking you to join more than one hundred young people from the All Stars Project, together with parents, community leaders and supporters on the steps of City Hall to protest the lack of basic services in the Far Rockaway community – conditions which contribute significantly to the atmosphere of violence. This issue is not unique to Far Rockaway - we want to make a citywide demand for a set of clear actions and responses from Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly and other government officials.
We will meet outside the Broadway gate to City Hall, at the corner of Broadway and Murray Street, and we will enter the City Hall Plaza together and set-up for our protest rally and press conference.
If you will attend, please RSVP to PamHafer@aol.com. Thank you.

This is a wonderful thing, so many people down here, ask me all the time how did you get here and who do you have to thank for everything that is going on in your life right now, so I am very happy that instead of telling them I can show them. All-Stars had the best MC & STAGE MANAGER DUO IN ALL-STARS HISTORY! Therefore, I'll never forget that

The Allstars is definitely a movement. I'm glad I had to be apart of it two times. Winning the Nationals seemed like such a victory back then. I'm glad you've created an outlet for our inner city youths. The network is one star that won't fall out of the sky.
