.:AYA has Ported Over to Myspace!
In pursuit of making a site that connects the group with its members as interactively as this, AYA hopes to develop a cohesive group of astrologers and students interested in getting to know about the community that surrounds astrology.
Through team efforts, we plan to organize ourselves to serve conferences and in turn bring those new to astrology a chance to attend these events and meet experienced astrologers in a group setting.
Project 1: United Astrology Conference in Denver, CO 2008
Hotel Discount Available here!
The United Astrology Conference (UAC) is a collaboration among the major astrological organizations that brings members from many different organizations together. UAC 2008 will be hosted in Denver, CO, will have 15 simultaneous tracks running from May 15-20, and may turn out to be the largest astrological conference to date.
Normal rates for a room at UAC would be in the ballpark of $900 for the full week. In our room share arrangement, each person will pay only $250 for the week, and share a room with other AYA members. Besides reducing the cost, sharing a room is a great way to get to know other astrologers and get the most from your conference experience. Space is limited, so you should reserve your spot as early as possible.
Project 2: Model Search and Fundraiser
We are creating a calendar showcasing an AYA member for each month of the year in a calendar that we will be selling to raise funds for the group. We are looking for AYA members to submit photos of them embodying their Sun sign or Rising Sign, [read more]
Project 3: Media Scour!
As part of AYA's official website, we maintain a comprehensive media & MP3 Library for all our members. As youtube and stumbleupon allow for more accurate searches and discoveries of articles, documentaries, interviews and lessons, we would like to ask anyone who is interested if they would like to become an official AYA Media Scrubber.
Your duties would be to login under the YoungAstrologers Youtube account, and favorite & subscribe to all videos pertinent to astrology. We would like to have multiple people all working on this at once, so please contact Merre for the YouTube account login and password. All appropriate movies added to the YouTube account will be added to this media library at www.youngastrologers.com

.:Our History
In October, 2003, one young astrologer met a couple of other young astrologers at a conference. She asked, "Why aren't there very many young people here?" And they discussed what had been done to get more young people involved. Some small efforts had been made in the form of young astrologer panels and reaching across generations at UAC. But still, there were very few of us attending workshops and conferences, and even fewer having opportunities to speak and connect with others... [read more]
.:AYA's Goal is to Trade Volunteers for Conference Entry
More recently, AYA has assisted the National NCGR Conference in Baltimore MD, the Blast Astrology Conference in Sedona AZ and NORWAC in May. We would like to bring volunteers from our group to assist conferences such as these with technical and manpower in the future in exchange for attendance. Our group would also like to spread awareness of the vast number of conferences, workshops and classes available to the astro-community by posting lecture mp3s, a calendar of events, and a blog of article entries in journals such as The Mountain Astrology, the NCGR Journal and the The Mercury Hour. Please feel free to contact AYA if you would like to have your lecture featured here!

PEACE FULL SAIL PEACE FULL SAIL The excitement grows! We are getting closer to showing the world our desire for World Peace. We have sent Lemmy with a truckload of supplies from Germany to Spain to load on the boat. Also, several musicians are heading that way as well as the Skipper! I leave in a few days to set up the Satellite equipment for our Internet broadcasts, brief the crew and discuss how we are going to film the journey. We are looking good with a major network for our series and I should be talking with them again soon. They don't know it yet since there is some new news, but we are joining forces with another documentary being filmed in Jamaica by a huge music-film-publishing company that I'm affilliated with. We are going to surprise alot of people! This will make our production 100 times fatter! and our mission a million times brighter! Wait till you hear who's involved with that! Also in discussion is our daily updates we are filming to upload on to the Internet via the satallite equipment. Thats a little tedious but should be no problem for the Peace Full Sail EuroRock experts! When we arrive at the boat we will also begin shopping for two months worth of food for 10 people. Can you imagine that? Det was telling me three to four carloads of rice, beans, pasta, ...basically all the stapels. Bottled water is enormous! Everyone will then do another shopping spree for their 'cant do withouts'..like chocolates, chips, you know, the junk foods I guess. Maybe some healthy stuff lol...I can't live without my Sugar Smacks, Chocolates and potato chips...the rippled ones. We will also be training the crew on safety, running the sails, watches, and general stuff like how to shower with sea water and sweet water rinse. Also the proper way to hollar, "Ahoy Mate!" Many things we gotta do!..we will upload some video of us doing all the above before we set sail. I will also make public our EuroRockers and award winning film crew at t
