Take You Higher is
An eight-piece band assembled for their love of the multi-cultural
message and homegrown rock/pop/funk that is undeniably Sly and The
Family Stone. Good times are accompanied by solid harmonies, fat horns
and a tight rhythm section that wont allow you to just sit down and
take it. At a time when a message of hope and empowerment is needed
Take You Higher delivers through the music of Sly Stone. Its one big
Party and everyones invited.
Members of Take You Higher hooked up with The Original Family Stone recently in New England. We met and bonded with trumpeter Cynthia Robinson, saxophonist Jerry "Papa J" Martini and keyboardist, singer Rose Stone, who is Sly Stone's sister!
They said they were very proud of the work we are doing and to keep it going! Jerry said we were officially in "The Family". We all agreed to collaborate and perform together in the future and we had a great time taking pictures and talking about the music of Sly and The Family Stone.

Can one of you give Thelonius a bonk on the head and let him know that there's a whole posse of friends from Oberlin that are looking for him? We miss Theo!
Not sure if Theo is the one in charge of this myspace or not. If it's not, can you let him know that a long-lost homey from Obieland is trying to get his numba?! Thanks!!! brownbuffalo@world.oberlin.edu

"The Page Screams Out" is a new track that I available have for FREE download and distribution. Dig it.
This is what I like most about MySpace, whereas we are able to share our music with others and by-pass a host of vultures that are unappreciative of the art but anxiously eyeing a prize that the art will provide, at the cost of...well...I guess that's those who buy music.
We made a rock musical of the Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde story, heavily inspired by THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW with a few thousand dollars and a handful of very talented actors and artists. We had no big (or small) studio behind us and no rich uncle. We’re very proud of our little movie and grateful for the interest generated on Myspace. Many of you have asked where to purchase the DVD. Cut and paste the link below to receive a special low price for all our Myspace friends at our Amazon store.
Thanks!
