   Arwin the Cosmogaian's Blurbs
About me:

“The Earth is a living being and the cosmos is a living thing. And we are the caretakers of our own small parcel, and of the greater good, from parsec to parsec, should providence enable us one day to plumb the depths of space and travel to its far reaches...

“God manifests himself in many forms! Darwin’s finches and Halley’s comet! Black holes, wormholes, termite holes, and holes-in-one! I rejoice in the plurality of mortals, humans and universes both. I celebrate our protons and neutrons which have for the most part held together for 14 billion years. All of us are very old men and women, indeed...

“When all is said and done we can say we knew where we were from. We know the plants around our homes and the stars above our heads. The earth’s rhythms are in our hearts and the music of the spheres in our souls. We are here, aware of Gaia, alive.”

--Arwin ("The Big God Network")

Arwin Chang is a character in the novel The Big God Network . He is a member of the Cosmogaian religion, which worships the cosmos and Gaia, and accepts scientific knowledge (indeed reveres the strangeness and beauty of modern cosmology and physics). It has some similarities with the Offworld cult, although few Cosmogaians believe in UFOs or alien interventions.

Cosmogaia is a global religion (some would say galactic), based in Pacifica, one of the post-American nations. To read more, see:

Hail, Arwin the Cosmogaian,
"...part of Pacifica's culture is to cherish the earth, and those sacred things that arise from it.... Especially the spirits that you drink."
I visit to raise a glass of Lagavulin, with my Cosmogaian brother, to the spirits of the earth.

Another eco-friendly journey to visit my Cosmogaian star-bro is overdue. Without you, one of the great Cosmogaian heroes of BGN, we'd all be worshipping mile-high idols and talking like Texans.

HI !! my Dear Friend ,
Saturn is a gaseous huge planet, the second en masse and in volume after Jupiter. its diameter is approximately valid that the Earth. Saturn is mainly formed by hydrogen. its name comes from the Roman god Saturn. Saturn has the shape of a sphéroïde oblat : the planet is flattened in the poles and blown in the equator. its equatorial and polar diameters postpone of about 10 % (120 536 Km for the first one, 110 466 km for the second), consequence of its fast rotation on herself and an extremely fluid internal composition. Other gaseous giants of the solar system (Jupiter, Uranus and Neptune) are also flattened, but in a less marked way.
Saturn is the most massive second planet of the solar system, 3,3 times less than Jupiter, but 5,5 times more than Neptune and 6,5 times more than Uranus. In comparison with The Earth, the Saturn is 95 times as massive. His diameter being approximately 9 times as big as that of the Earth, we could accommodate 760 bodies of the size of this last one in the volume occupied by the gaseous giant.

I hope you’re well and your week is nice and enjoy….

Hail, Arwin,
"Canada is furious, as well. They're sick of N'Am meddling and bullying" (JCM, BGN, 259).
You said it, brother! Anything you can do to debug Stephen Harper, the N'Am mole who's dismantling Canada, would be much appreciated.
Can we throw him in an Osgood pod and have him manifest onstage at the Galactus gig? That'd blow his mind, for sure.
I know... it's a little too Netopian a solution.
How about 12 hours of yage? [sadly, the hypocrite that he is, he'd probably love it]...
Oh, well-- rant on, Cosmogaian bro!

EASTER MORN

By Louise Lewin Matthews

Easter morn with lilies fair
Fills the church with perfumes rare,
As their clouds of incense rise,
Sweetest offerings to the skies.
Stately lilies pure and white
Flooding darkness with their light,
Bloom and sorrow drifts away,
On this holy hallow'd day.
Easter Lilies bending low
In the golden afterglow,
Bear a message from the sod
To the heavenly towers of God.

The Mistletoe Bough

The mistletoe hung in the castle hall
The holly branch shone on the old oak wall.
The Baron's retainers were blithe and gay,
Keeping the Christmas holiday.

The Baron beheld with a father's pride
His beautiful child, Lord Lovell's bride.
And she, with her bright eyes seemed to be
The star of that goodly company.
Oh, the mistletoe bough. Oh, the mistletoe bough.

"I'm weary of dancing, now," she cried;
"Here, tarry a moment, I'll hide, I'll hide,
And, Lovell, be sure you're the first to trace
The clue to my secret hiding place."

Away she ran, and her friends began
Each tower to search and each nook to scan.
And young Lovell cried, "Oh, where do you hide?
I'm lonesome without you, my own fair bride."
Oh, the mistletoe bough. Oh, the mistletoe bough.

They sought her that night, they sought her next day,
They sought her in vain when a week passed away.
In the highest, the lowest, the loneliest spot,
Young Lovell sought wildly, but found her not.

The years passed by and their brief at last
Was told as a sorrowful tale long past.
When Lovell appeared, all the children cried,
"See the old man weeps for his fairy bride."
Oh, the mistletoe bough. Oh, the mistletoe bough.

At length, an old chest that had long laid hid
Was found
