Songstress delves into the complexities of domestic abuse in vivid new video.
In her vivid new video for "Every Time I Tell," Ruby Rose Fox showcases many characters: A duck smoking a cigarette in the tub, a blonde and a dark-suited basement dweller. The Boston-bred singer-songwriter sings about domestic violence, pain and sudden forgiveness, and the ironic pain that one inflicts on an abuser when they speak about the abuse they've endured.
"This video and our new record Domestic is an exploration of power, domestic abuse, and objectification," Ruby explains. "The first image and cover of the album were a remake of Merit Oppenheimer's "Cannibal" and then took on a life of its own. My original idea was to shoot a woman stuck inside the infrastructure of her own home but many more characters emerged. Hope you enjoy!"
