The band's new music drops today (April 12) at 3 p.m. EST.

It's official: The Stone Roses is back. The Manchester rock band will release a new single today (May 12) at 3 p.m. EST—the first new release in 21 years. Earlier this year, singer Ian Brown confirmed that a "glorious" new album was on its way. But then yesterday (May 11), posters of the band's lemon icon popped up in London and New York.

The Stone Roses only have two other albums to their name. (Sophomore album Second Coming came out in December 1994.) Still, they've had a cult following since spearheading the British guitar pop scene in the late '80s. The band performed a handful of times throughout 2013, almost 30 years after its founding gigs at Manchester warehouses.
