Arlene Murray is extremely versatile. She can change the ambience and tempo of the music from swinging dance to easy listening for cocktails or dinner. Her songs encompass the unique styles of Shirley Horn, the longing ballads of Billie Holiday, to the playful sound of Astrud Gilberto.
Ms. Murray began singing at age five. She grew up in a family where music was part of their everyday life. She listened to her parents and uncles sing to the tunes of Frank Sinatra and Nat King Cole. In high school, she was the vocalist of her school band. Around that time, she was also learning how to play the guitar. After high school, she went directly to the Conservatory of Music at University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines where she majored in Voice. She was also a vocalist in a seven-piece band called the Majestics where they played in nightclubs in Manila.
Arlene Murray’s international performance started in Fukuoka City, Japan. Her captivating performances attracted venues at leading Five-Star hotels in the Southeast Asian circuit that consisted of Hong Kong, Singapore, Bangkok and Tokyo.
Ms. Murray was the Resident Artist at the Hyatt Regency Hong Kong for seven years. In addition to her singing talent, she also worked as a model and an actress. She modeled for Alpha Romeo, Vidal Sassoon, Remy Martin, Matheus, Yves Saint Laurent, and Christian Dior. Her film appearances include MGM's Forced Vengeance directed by James Fargo starring Chuck Norris and a brief segment in Far East directed by John Duigan (Lawn Dogs, The Journey of August King, Sirens, Flirting, etc.) and foreign film Hotline.
Arlene Murray relocated to San Francisco in the early 80's and studied acting at the American Conservatory Theater. Afterwards, she landed a leading role on the stage play Eye of the Coconut written by Jeannie Barroga (an established San Francisco playwright). The play showcased Ms. Murray's love for singing, acting and dancing. She was also invited to become a member of the Actor's Equity Association (a private invitation and member’s only organization for professional actors).
The CD, Arlene Murray, debuted in 2000 after her hiatus from raising her children. In a brief statement, "Now that my daughters are grown and are able to fend for themselves…it's time that I follow my passion for music." The album is a collection of traditional standard songs.

Participo además en un proyecto cinematográfico llamado “ El Oriente Lejano” ( Far East) que trata sobre un veterano de la guerra de Vietnam, y cuya dirección estuvo a cargo del famoso cineasta australiano Jonh Duigan, conocido por sus filmes “ Sirens” Lawn Dogs” , “The Journey of August King” , “ Flirting” y muchos otros.
En Noviembre del 83, Arlene Murray se estableció en San Francisco, Califórnia, y después de estudiar actuación en el Conservatório Estadounidense de Artes Escénicas ( American Conservatory Theater) fue contratada como actriz para interpretar una obra de la dramaturga Jeannie Barroga. En esta pieza teatral Arlene podia mostrar su amor y talento para el canto la actuación y la danza. A partir de esse entonces, pasó a ser miembro de la “ Actor..s Equity Association”.
Actualmente, y después de varios años alejada de la vida artística profesional, durante los que Arlene se dedicó al cuidado de sus hijas, estamos nuevamente delante de una excelente artista, y este Disco es una muestra de ese regreso merecido....”ahora que mis hijas ya están crecidas y pueden enfrentar la vida, es tiempo de volver a mi pasión musical y a mis sueños de siempre”
