Arcati Crisis is the combination of singer-songwriters Gina Martinelli and Peter Marinari. They have been best friends for over a decade, co-writing songs and co-starring in plays ever since a chance encounter in the seventh grade.
As Arcati Crisis Peter and Gina draw inspiration from indie rock, singer-songwriter folk, and eighties pop to craft their simpatico riffs and melodies.
Whether it's the slightly kitschy apocalypse referenced in Gina's bouncy "Fisher Price,"the wistful heartbreak of Peter's staple "Under My Skin," or the intricate harmony on covers like "Pocahontas," each Arcati Crisis song emanates the joy and charm of friends doing their favorite thing - playing music together.
Can't wait to play with you both tonight at Saxbys! :)
If you're around tomorrow night (7/28), come play a few tunes at the open mic I'm guest hosting in East Falls. Signup starts at 9, music kicks off around 9:30. Buckets is located at 3749 Midvale Ave. (a 3 minute walk down Midvale from the R6 East Falls station).
Good food, good drink, and most importantly, great music. Hope to see you there!
it was a pleasure sharing the "stage" with you lovely folks on tuesday at the blarney south! very nice to have met you both - we hope we'll be seeing you in barrington soon! peter, you can borrow my claves if you like. ;)
Thanks for playing last night. You were really good. The intimate setting at The Blarney really seems to be a good match for what you are doing.
I really enjoyed all the musicians last night. I thought you both might hit it off with yearlongday. And Crills Wilson was fun to watch with all that indie style energy on some of the songs.
Glad the gig went well, and can't wait till next month. It being almost June, I think it's perfectly reasonable for me to start pushing for people to come on out, too! Did Ben come out?
Let's absolutely get together and hang out w/ guitars in hand prior to the Saxby's gig. It was fun playing along w/ AC during "open stage" on Saturday. :)
Hot pics from the TSoML will be coming soon. I guess I'm special since I live w/ the photographer. ;)

Sigh. . .I was missing you guys even before I got this friend request. Longing for youth a lot lately. Peter, you are looking old. Call me sometime for lunch or some other ridiculous excuse to hang out that makes us sound sophisticated.
