Aqua City Motel is a Minneapolis band. Members include Dan Tanz, Erik Swenson, Bill Bush, William Watson, and Sam Wilhide. The band started in 2005, played folk/rock/alt-country for a while, and has since developed into a rock ’n’ roll band. Now ACM mostly plays what can best be described as ’songs.’ There are two guitarists, a bassist, a drummer, and a keyboard player. Sometimes they have wild guitar solo duels in the basement, usually won by Will. The only recourse Dan has is to play something so gushingly beautiful and creative that they all start to weep, and lay their instruments down. On good days, they practice until the dawn of 10:30pm! On bad days the bassist throws down his bass in frustration, and the drummer walks off to make a call on his cell phone. The keyboard player’s eye droops down, and looks like he is about to fall asleep. The band works tirelessly, holding down five jobs, respectively, in order to fund their secret dream of one day saving up enough to put foam on the basement walls. Very few people recognize the guys in the band when they walk down the street. Sometimes they don’t recognize themselves anymore, with their lost dream, crashing down like each flake of snow after the first day of Spring. I haven’t been told (but assume its true) that most of the songs feature crushingly gorgeous words. Each of the notes in every song are carefully played, ad-nause, until they are ready to be performed in front of the most important member of the band... YOU!

I was just hanging around, so I thought I'd drop you a quick little note to say, Yay! It's Friday! It's Friday! It's Finally Friday! Have a Great Weekend!
Thank you for the request. Whenever I drive by the Aqua City Motel I swear I'm going to stay there one night, have a bizarre evening...but yet it never happens. Perhaps you've inspired me... KVP
