Some music is cerebral- some of it is raw, party music. It all has its time and place. I like stuff that sounds fresh and original. I tend to stay away from the tired and regurgitated. Usually you can’t go wrong if you start with the artists that originated the genre. Rock n Roll, Electronic, Bee Bop, Down Tempo, Neo- Soul, Hardcore, Classical, 20th Century, RnB, Noisecore, Dub, Dancehall, Rocksteady, Alt-Country, Outlaw-Country, Afro-Cuban, Salsa etc… it’s all valid as long as I believe what the song writer or composer is trying to communicate.
