PURCHASE BATTLE OF THE BANDS!!!!!!!
HERE’S ALL THE INFO!!!!!!!
Monday March 31st - Wednesday April 2nd: Round 1!
10+ different bands each night each play 12 minute sets. Their performances are scored by a panel of 6-7 judges, a diverse group of campus celebs, students and faculty. Their scores will be based on a variety of factors the largest of which will be audience response (this means the bands performing should make sure all of their friends come out and cheer them on!).
Each night the 2 bands with the highest scores will move on to finals.
Thursday, April 3rd: Finals!
The six finalists (2 from each night) each play 20 minute sets. The bands will be scored in the same manner as the previous nights. At the end of the night the winners will be announced!
Prizes are as follows:
1st: 1st place band opens Culture Shock. They are the first band to play the first day of Culture Shock which is Friday, April 18th, 2008.
2nd: 2nd place will receive a small trophy.
3rd: 3rd place will have to attend a 5-hour alcohol abuse seminar in the Humanities Theater on Friday April 18th, 2008.
HOW TO SIGN UP!
Email Alaina Stamatis hmsalaina@gmail.com with your band name and myspace URL.
If you sign up to participate keep in mind that you MUST
- Pay $5, which will go to the 2008 Scholarship fund.
- Be able to perform on either Monday March 31st, Tuesday April 1st or Wednesday April 2nd. Unless otherwise stated in your email to Alaina it will be assumed that any of the three days are fine and you will be randomly scheduled one.
- Be able to perform on Thursday April 3rd if you are chosen as a finalist.
- Be able to perform on Friday April 18th if you are chosen as the 1st place winner.
For the first 3 nights the time that each band performs at will range from as early as 7 (we may have to start that early if that many people sign up!) to as late as 11:30. On the last night, (April 3rd) Finals will start at 8:30.

If you go to said school guess what?!?! Your money is used to put these shows on.
this website is run by the same guy who runs the shows, the general programming coordinator, Neil Fridd.
He works for you. You pay him! Come to the shows!!! Email him or way better meet him in person, (go to a show and ask someone where he is) and get involved. We have a lot of resources to do pretty much anything we want. Concerts, movies, parades, haircuts. Let’s make it happen!
If you’re a campus band looking to get on a show, get in touch with Patrick Lamothe. (follow the "Whitson’s" link on my top 30,000.) He’s working on the grand reopening of Whitson’s Memorial Greeting Hall, the more intimate kick ass stage in the side of the stood. (Behind the tagged factory green stuff wall on the west side of the building.) He’s got some sick lineups of shows with tons and tons of purchase bands, email if you want to play and if not just come out and show your love!
