Atheism vs. Agnosticism(and a little Christianity)
I'm not an expert in the ideas but here's my opinion (because that's all it is about). I once read an essay about the different variations of atheism and religion (by Eon Sol of Darkstarlings.com and Negative Flood Cycle.) No one can be sure that there is a god/deity. No one can be sure that there isn't. You ask me how I can look at the world and not see a god presence, I say how can you know/feel that there is? You say how can you look at the world and SEE a god... I say how can you not? There isn't enough evidence to support either belief. Until God or Jesus descend upon us, I will believe more towards the idea that there isn't a god. This was the variations my friend spoke about. People fall into one of these: atheism (no god/deity), agnostic atheism (aren't sure, but leaning more towards no god *that's me*), agnostic theism (not sure but leaning more towards there being a god) and pure theism (there is definitely a god). I don't see how anyone can be only atheist or only a theist knowing nothing about the past, because that's how we got here, by going through the past. Did we come from monkeys? Sure. Were we created by something completely out of this world? lol Sure. You tell me one fact and I bet I can find one on the other side of the spectrum, from either side. If there is a god, I surely don't believe IT has anything to do with the bible though. The bible is a storybook. Maybe the people in it were real, but I definitely don't believe the talking snake and the woman-bite-apple-now-has-to-be-the-child bearer story (or any other story in the great book for that matter). But just because that book is filled with make believe, doesn't mean they didn't have the idea mapped out right. It was a book of morals and possibly things to live by, stories as an example of how you should live. It's definitely outdated no matter what the stories are about, but people have peace for reading them. People believe you should be a good person, and I believe that people are good. I try to treat others like I want to be treated, that's *nothing* but a great idea. I'm sure there are plenty of other things that are good in the bible. I've never read the whole thing, or even a full page.
I was never forced to go to church. I was never spoken to as a child about anything to do with god. I had friends that went to church and when I was younger I just thought it was a place to see all of your friends and relatives. I went to one Sunday school session and the teacher asked me who I would like to pray for. I think I was like 6 or 7. I asked her what she meant by pray, she said, "Who if anyone is sick or not their best, and you would like them to get better?" I said my grandmother because she is old. I knew at that age that she wasn't going to get younger, so I just prayed for her wellbeing I guess. The whole time though I was thinking this woman is crazy. What is asking my mind to let my grandmother be OK, going to do about helping her be OK? I just can't wrap my head around anyone asking anything that may or may not be there, for help.
Now on the other side of the scale, if there is a god, I don't think praying to it will make any kind of difference. If there is a god, it doesn't deserve to be spoken about by us measly humans. This thing or whatever shouldn't even be voiced or thought about. That's how they believe in Judaism I think. Forget all the 'what I should wear'/'what I should eat'/'how I should act' crap and just think about IF, I repeat IF there is a god, we don't deserve to be in it's presence at all. We were possibly created by this thing (YHWH -yahweh, in English from Judaism that's LORD) and left alone for another world/universe to be created. [Break-in: You should all rent the movie called The Nines, it's entertaining] So! Either way, god or no... we shouldn't dwell on it. Live your life like you want to, without harm to others. Silly people, you don't need god to be happy.

What makes a good song?:
The first reason I would like a song is to look at the person singing. Do they mean what they are singing about? I get chills when I hear someone sing with meaning. (That's also why I watch American Idol) I can enjoy a good gospel song once in a while if the person singing, really believes in god, even (doesn't matter if there is one or not, they truly believe there is and you can feel it in their voice). I also like a song for the rhythm. There's not any particular rhythm I like, or maybe there is and I just haven't noticed but I like all kinds of music so it's hard to get a certain rhythm out of that. My favorite band is Nine Inch Nails. Does that mean I like industrial music? Sure but that's not my favorite kind of music. My favorite kind is, like I said before, when the person singing has meaning in their voice. I'll list a few of the bands I believe has the ability to make me believe what they're saying: Coldplay, Snow Patrol, Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson, System of a Down, Radiohead, Alanis Morrisette,tPerfect Circle, Keith Urban (yea, that's country but he's pretty much the only country I like).

Ok, this section is supposed to be about me too so I'll start it out with some quotes and say why I liked them. READ ON MY LITTLE RATS.

Everything will be OK in the end. If it is not OK, then it's not the end. Ever think about giving up? You shouldn't, because it can always be made better until the end. You can keep trying. If you're in a situation that you don't like. GET OUT OF IT and change it.

Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind. When you find those people that don't mind you being yourself, then you've really found something. Oh btw, that's what I'm looking for, some people to be myself with.

It doesn't take much to see that the problems of three little people doesn't add up to a hill of beans in this crazy world. Someday you'll understand that. Now, now... Here's looking at you kid. This is from Casablanca. I think it sums up your problems. Your problems mean nothing compared to the worlds problems. I think it pretty much means, get over yourself and live with it. I try to do that as often as I can.

I was born when you kissed me. I died when you left me. I lived a few weeks while you loved me. This is how I want to feel when I meet someone, besides the leaving me part of course :P.

The more you know, the more you don't know. When you get to the point of realizing how true this is, it's already too late. You want more. Knowledge is out there, you just have to find it. The problem sometimes is finding it though. Everyone has the ability to learn something, they just have to want to find it. (Lately I don't think everyone has the ability... some people just aren't meant to know a lot. But the people who don't understand everything are also important to society in their own ways.)

I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

Who I'd like to meet:

R.I.P. Heath Ledger, but this is OMG funny

They are good, I love Jason Castro, you just wanna hug him, he's so damn cute!!! but, he didn't do as good as I thought he would when it got towards the end, I was a little dissapointed, cause he was my fav through the whole thing, but david castro showed him up on the actual vocals....

That is what I try to do, and we have been doing great lately, but when she made that comment, to him of all people, it just about knocked the wind out of me. It hurt pretty bad, I mean my world revolves around her, and I dont' expect her to realize that at 4...but I guess I kind of do too...

Thanks for my blog comments! It's nice to hear from the older crowd who has gone through (and made it successfully) what she is going through now. I know it will get better, and most days it is better...course some days are worse. Anyways, thanks for the input....I'm just going to let her go see him. That's all I can do I guess.

The video which I sent it had no video attached, just a picture of the album. So it was not accepted for that reason.

I did, I was like the 3rd person to enter it. It was actually me who directly influenced Trent to post a guidline stating that the contest was not for vocals, but for visualization. "I tried...I gave up."

Lol, well thank you. The lyrics and style in which I sang was what the song made me feel. I had only wrote it today about 4 hours ago. I would really love for Trent to hear it and give me some feedback, but as you know, he is a busy man. Oh well, maybe someday. Thanks for the add and keep in touch. Let your other NIN/Tool fan friends know about us. :)
