About Shotgun Lover

With his first demo, Athens, Ga.'s Andrew Nelson establishes himself as a songwriting force to be reckoned with. He and his talented band, The Shotgun Lovers, blast out spiritual, hard-rockin' country and ease through somber, heartfelt ballads in the vein of Whiskeytown, Vigilantes of Love and early-'70s Stones. Nelson's vibrant vocals perfectly deliver his passionate, longing-filled lyrics of family tragedy, friendship and the struggles of life and love. And the band's energetic, affecting performances never fail to impress. Down-home rock 'n' roll doesn't get any more real than this.

We will do an acoustic concert from 8-11 this evening (Wednesday). All you have to do is type in www.hounddogradio.net, open a cold one, and take in all the FCC regulated madness. Log into the chat room and ask us some personal questions (ask Jarred what it is like to poke a dead guy with a stick!, or Johnny how his Yoga class is going). While your there, check out what Hounddog radio is all about. i can't say enough good things about them, they support the hell out of us, and other unsigned local musicians (such as our partners in crime, the Bearfoot Hookers). They also drink a lot of beer, so make a donation. This is a great way to catch up with what we've been doing, or get to know us if you are a new listener. It'll be funny as hell. spread the word.
