Born deep in the wilds of Hackney, the Alreadies are a slightly manic crew of musicians who play a mind-bending fusion of klezmer and reggae. With a bit of ska thrown in for good measure, but 'kleggae' sounds better than 'kla', obviously. They hail from as far afield as Johannesburg and, er, Walthamstow. They're not as young as they used to be, but damn it, they can still boogie.
Hands of Time "This is a proper reggae tune that you don't hear again. The arrangements and atmosphere is dark and gloomy fitting the timely lyrical content brilliantly - something which is usually hard to do. This is a roots tune very unlike the new Digital Roots Year 3000 style, which tends to sound samey. However, MDV's Hands of Time harks back to the days of Shaka, Fatman and Coxsone." The Matador
Hands of Time "A tight gnawing package of a song and a riveting forecast to what this band is offering. This is a bubbling and insistent tune with a steady and dreamlike wakefulness. The continuous guitar dampening and lead throughout, gives the tune a unique quality which is confirming and responsive to the dialogue of the masterful lyrics. The smooth backing vocals, touch of bass piano and subtle strings bring beauty and elegance to what could otherwise be heard as essentially a politically relevant and therefore, potentially a, 'not so pretty' message. As the track builds towards its climax, there is an intensity and almost aggressive nuance. The tight drum rolls lend to an exciting and dramatic culmination. This is a satisfying listening and skanking experience from a band with impeccable musical ability." AMF68

Fires in greece! there are not enough words to describe the situation in Greece.we are shocked.it's the first time in our lives that we can't find one-just one-reason for this ravage.a lot of people dead , other homeless and all of us , the citizens of this country (the "descendants" of the ancient greeks) under no nationality!it's hard to say but it's true , the few things that connect us with this country now have been destroyed!greece is a third rate country with no education and culture.and the state is just a rogue!!!the goverment do NOTHING about the people who really burned and for the people who saw their homes in flames!and at 16 of september they want our vote!we are gonna use for voting paper a toilet paper!(maybe used!).excuse us for the agressive style but it's the way that we live the catastrophe!!!

Ah, okay that makes more sense, thanks - I think there's too many sanctimonious ar**-holes on the ethical band-wagon without us adding to it, glad you picked up on the sentiment. Like the music by the way, any plans to play Bristol?
