Alex Biese has been making the rounds on the Jersey Shore music scene for the last several years. He got his start playing bass in Violence Cookie (of "Love Chupacabra" fame) which then became Tokyo Breakfast (also of "Love Chupacabra" fame).
Following those bands, he and his buddy Jarret started This Island Earth, a hard rock outfit where Alex continued to play bass. After recording an EP, the band went their separate ways, and Alex began playing guitar, bass and harmonica in the folk/jazz quartet Just Tonight.
Following the disbandment of Just Tonight, Alex began making the rounds as a solo artist, before re-teaming with Jarret to create Day For Night, which is currently on hiatus.
Between his solo work and his bands, Alex has performed at The Stone Pony in Asbury Park, Coffee Blue in Belmar, Cool Beans in Oradell, the Internet Cafe in Red Bank, the Saint in Asbury Park, Chubby's in Red Bank, the Twisted Tree Cafe in Asbury Park, the Cornerstone in Freehold (thanks to Don Lee) and Monmouth University in West Long Branch.
While Alex, Jarret and their buddy Jamie are concocting their newest musical venture, this page has been created to give friends the heads-up on Alex's solo work.
Hey everybody, Al here. Actually, it's been me the whole time, but I figured now I'll chime in in a slightly more personal way. I know I've been in a lot of bands over the years, and most of you have bared with me. Jarret, Jamie and I are cooking up something really fun these days in Jamie's basement, and when it's ready I think you'll all be pleasantly surprised by it.
I started this page to let you guys know about any upcoming solo shows or recordings I have coming up, rather than sending out bulletins from my personal page or list shows on my bands' pages. So stay tuned, this is going to be fun.
While I have your attention, let me say that I welcome and look forward to any collaborations anyone may be interested in. Duets, covers, co-songwriting work, session work, visual art/musical partnerships, whatever. I'm game.
OK, now I'm done. For serious.
