Albumen is a three piece from upstate New York, a place where people still are shocked by news reports that living may kill you. Their songs of spurned love, horror movie imagery and drunken evenings with the bugs play off that very idea.
Two records in, Sidewalks Melt is a shift from the cold drum machine driven sounds of Lake Desolation to the sound of three people playing in a room (with some contributions from benevolent ghosts). With three distinct songwriters, the record pulls in many directions, but still displays a strong cohesiveness.

I understand what you were saying -it IS stripped down -but that's totally the way you guys should sound: MORE like the way you already sounded on Lake Desolation. I concur with your niece.
