Albert Power RHA
One of Ireland's greatest sculptors, Albert Power R.H.A. native of Dublin carved many works of art in Ireland and abroad. His work can be seen in the National Gallery of Ireland, The Dublin City Gallery The Hugh Lane and several public monuments such as the portrait bust of W.B. Yeats in Sandymount Green, Tom Kettle on Stephen’s Green and the statue of the writer Pádraic Ó Conaire in Galway. Albert Power created many exquisite genre pieces such as the Fall of Icarus and The Connemara Trout in The National Gallery of Ireland.

Portrait bust of Hugh Lane by Albert Power in The Dublin City Gallery The Hugh Lane
The beautiful portrait bust of Hugh Lane by Albert Power R.H.A. can be seen in the reception area of The Dublin City Gallery The Hugh Lane as part of the Hugh Lane Centenary. Albert Power RHA. carved this portrait bust in 1933 to coincide with the opening of the Gallery in its present location on Parnell Square in Dublin.
Exhibition to mark JFK's visit to Galway
Currently showing at Galway City Museum is an exhibition of memorabilia to commemorate John F Kennedy's visit to Galway City in 1963. Among the highlights on display is a bronze bust of JFK that was sculpted by James Power (son of Albert Power who sculpted Pádraig ó Conaire's statue). This sculpture, which was made in the year of the President's visit, has never been on display in bronze form.
