AL BERKOWITZ IS BACK!!!!
The erratic american outsider Al Berkowitz had hit the rock bottom in the late nineties. He retired from showbiz, gave up his druggy adventures and set up a refreshment stall in a coastal Spanish town. He failed. He became a vagrant and wandered all over Europe for three years. He almost died. He found love in a younger Spanish junkie and settled down in a slum housing next to Madrid. She died shortly after but had time enough to regain his talent and vitality for all of us. Then, he focused his long time angst in songwriting...
He is back again, all cleaned up and ready to turn over your trembling souls. He doesn..t even smoke. He only drinks wine and sings.
We're glad he found a local dying band in Madrid. They can't understand his music but do know how to perform it.
Al feels lucky. The four ex-Inhabitants feel happy. Ain't easy to describe their live performances. Rare sounds, flamboyant arrangements, held back rage, powerful haunting voices...Al's remembrances will do you harm. You won't sleep. You will never find peace of mind. ----- ---------------------------------------¡¡AL BERKOWITZ HA VUELTO!! -Cuando el espíritu de Charley Patton se aparece ante Aldous Berkowitz y le ordena consagrar su vida al blues, éste acata su orden con celeridad. Sujeta a la pared un alambre tensado y se dispone a aprender los rudimentos de la guitarra slide. Corre el año 1959, y en Temple (Texas) nadie, y menos un mocoso de 10 años pone en duda los mandatos de un bluesman muerto. Lo que no es habitual, ni siquiera en Temple (Texas), es que sean varios los bluesmen muertos que intenten regir el destino de un solo hombre. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------En 1972 Blind Willie Johnson conmina a Al Berkowitz a abrazar la fe anabaptista, lo cual, éste, por supuesto, hace.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------En 1983 un recién finado, y por lo que se ve, cabreado y confuso Muddy Waters le exhorta a sumergirse en la psicodelia, abjurar de la fe anabaptista, contraer sífilis, y volverse politoxicómano.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------En 1997 Henry Thomas le sugiere muy taxativamente volver a las raíces: Renunciar a la guitarra eléctrica y aprender a tocar el quills. Al Berkowitz, de todos modos ya muy depauperado, trunca su carrera musical y tarda cuatro años en averiguar que es un jodido quills.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Por fin en 2006 Al Berkowitz decide emprender por sí mismo la búsqueda, y no sólo musical, de su propia identidad; recala en Madrid y forma su propia banda a partir de los restos de una banda local (The Inhabitants).---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Pese a todo, Al Berkowitz, como nosotros, lo último que desea es contrariar a los bluesmen muertos. Pero nunca llueve a gusto de todos...

Hey Nacho, pues este anho ya no vamos a tener conciertos en Berlin. Porque apartir de la mitad de Julio vamos a tener una pausa hasta abril, porque voy a Karkowia y el guitarrista se va a Repúblika Checa. Pero no creas que me he olvidado de lo dicho. Si para Ustedes todavía es atractivo, les aviso cuando tocamos en Berlin el otro anho.
