Mike's Interests
|
| General | Essentially I'm a stay-at-home hermit type: I like reading, watching the movies and the tv, listening to the compact discs, playing the video games, looking after my crazy cat Ted, collecting stuff, updating crappy blogs, and spending WAY too much time surfing the internet. I'm also hopelessly addicted to World of Warcraft (WoW). | | Music | They Might Be Giants, Reverend Horton Heat, Rhapsody, Rammstein, Nightwish, KMFDM, Motorhead, Helloween, Iron Maiden, Crystal Method, Blue Oyster Cult, Metallica (of the Cliff Burton Era), Judas Priest, Blue Oyster Cult, and Juno Reactor. And since I'm a huge nerd I also really dig video game soundtracks. But according to my ipod I've listened to the Jason Nevins remix of N.E.R.D.'s Rock Star over 600 times, so I'll most likely be listening to that at any time. I'm a sad clown. | | Movies | Batman, Memento, Death Race 2000, Mortal Kombat, The Man With No Name trilogy, the Dirty Harry series (except for Sudden Impact), Casablanca, Creepshow, Kill Bill vol. 1, Run Lola Run, Dark City, The Matrix, The Matrix Reloaded, Galaxy Express 999, The Five Deadly Venoms, Return of the Five Deadly Venoms, Men in Black, Theatre of Blood, Master of the Flying Guillotine, The Mechanic, and Clash of the Titans. | | Television | Babylon 5, Danger Mouse, Deadwood, Metalocalypse, The Daily Show, Kolchak: The Night Stalker, The Prisoner, Clone High, Arrested Development, Match Game, MST3K, Batman: The Animated Series, Black Books, Space Ghost: Coast to Coast, The Simpsons, and the Critic. | | Books | While I am extremely critical of other forms of media, I like 99% of what I read, so pinning down a favorite is tricky. I like science fiction, fantasy, popular history, trivia, biography, and mystery mostly. Sometimes horror, popular science, and some historical fiction too. Here's a list of every book I own, somewhere between 1900-2000 altogether. My favorite book of all time continues to be Inferno by Jerry Pournelle and Larry Niven, I first discovered it in middle school and have probably read it something like 18 or 19 times since then. This year the best books I've read are probably The Electric Church and I Am Legend. | | Heroes |

Mike's Blurbs |
About me:
Just some nerdy dude who looks like a million other nerdy dudes. Currently I catalog books all day at the library. So far the highlight was finding the Dewey Decimal number for shipwrecks in the southern Atlantic. hellz yeah.
All that crap on the left is what I'm interested in. Gaze upon it and wonder.
The quote is from Chairman Mao, or at least that's what John McCain said on the Daily Show.
Mostly I use myspace to play with my blog. I get to update my comings and goings to my friends, and I also get to develop my own personal goofy writing style. Chances are if anything is updated, it's over there. Blah blah.
