summer 2005? we get the bright idea to go to o'ahu, playing three originals and an hour of covers under the name "rockers."
sometime later: we get a brighter idea to go back to o'ahu, this time playing all originals. five days, five gigs. ktuh live gets recorded.
later still: the ktuh recording gets distributed wide for free. kapono leaves the band, ekona moves from keys to bass, star puts the axe down and takes over keys.
some more later: kihei joins the band, then promptly joins halealoha in jail. kihei gets out first, but not before we get renamed "ai pohaku."
earlier than now but still later than before: more originals, more o'ahu gigs, backing gigs, add grant on percussion.
couple a months ago: start the first official album...
Get at me for guest list ASAP!

AHA - Merrie Monarch Halau Fundraiser this Sunday in Oahu!!
Aloha All !!!!!
Our ohana in Oahu is having a Merrie Monarch Halau Fundraiser on behalf of our hula halau, the Academy of Hawaiian Arts of Oakland, California.
Mark Keali'i Ho'omalu and our halau are preparing for our annual Ho'ike, Ia Oe E Ka La Hula Competition in Pleasanton, CA, and a tour in Japan, so unfortunately we are not able to be in Oahu for this fundraiser event. But there will be videos & slideshows of the new halau and all our haumana.
Kumu Mark and the Academy have the pleasure of being invited to close the Wednesday night Ho'ike show for the Merrie Monarch Festival 2009.
