Why are there no poems that are more
upbeat?
That talk about happiness and the sufferings we
defeat?
There are brighter things in life that make us who
we are
More than depression, darkness, death, and scars
Yes, there is darkness
Yes, there is death
But there are other things that most of you are
blind to I bet
There are people laughing, blue skies, and fresh
air
If you took a closer look, you will find out that
they really are there
So why not make poems about beauty to remind the
sad ones about it?
Cutting solves nothing, you can live your life
without it
Stop leaving the doors closed,
Open a few more
Then you may see the good things that are actually
in store
Life may be bad sometimes, but how do we know that
death isn't worse?
We've never been through it, it could probably be a
permanent curse
So think of this,
True love does not cause self-mutilation or suicide
You'll know that I'm right if you've ever really
felt it inside
Remember you are awake and alive
You aren't dodging bullets or walking through a
field of land mines
Everyday is an opportunity for a brand new start
To find out where to begin, look inside your
wonderful heart
Keep this in mind: there are good things in life
and people who care
If you take a closer look, you may find out that
these things really are there.
