In Scandinavian mythology, Aesirs were a group of gods who were integrated into the local religion after the Indo-European invasions. In contrast to Greek gods, they were mortal and could feel physical and psychological pain. The texts of the group are sometimes built from these historical and philosophical references. AESIRS music is a kind of catharsis, indefinable outlet for impulses.
AESIRS is a group with Black & Death metal influences. After a 1st piece called "Burning Brain" led by Ben (Guitar & vocals) and Alex (Guitar), the group has performed in concert with "The Oath", "Etharen" and "Obnoxious" then refocused on composition waiting for a permanent drummer and bassist.
The line up of AESIRS took shape with the arrival of the drummer Benoit with Dark and Doom inspirations. Aesirs just needed then a creative bass player to link these different influences: Guillaume joined the group to form the line-up.
In October 2007, the group recorded 5 tracks in the studio "The hostel Acoustics" to release a demo which is expected soon. The group gave its first concert on 12 January 2008 at the Marquise in Lyon, then on March 21 at Marché-Gare. Today AESIRS continues its path with new tracks, and stages.
Dans la mythologie Scandinave Aesirs était un groupe de dieux qui fut intégré à la religion locale après les invasions indo-européenne. A l'inverse des dieux grecques, ils étaient mortels et pouvaient ressentir la douleur physique et psychologique. Les textes du groupe sont construit à partir de références historiques et philosophiques. La musique d'AESIRS est une sorte de catharsis, exutoire de pulsions indéfinissables.
AESIRS est un groupe de métal aux influences Black & Death. Après une 1ère experience nommé "Burning Brain" montée par Ben ( Guitare & voix ) et Alexi ( Guitare ), le groupe s’est produit en concert avec "The Oath", "Etharen" et "Obnoxious" puis s'est recentré sur la composition en attendant de trouver un batteur et un bassiste permanents.
Le line up d’AESIRS a pris forme avec l'arrivée du batteur Benoît aux inspirations Dark et Doom. Il ne manquait plus qu'un bassiste assez créatif pour faire le lien entre ces différentes influences: Guillaume a rejoint le groupe pour former le line-up actuel.
En octobre 2007, le groupe enregistre 5 morceaux au studio "L'auberge Acoustique" pour sortir une démo prévue pour bientôt.
Dans la foulée le groupe donne son premier concert le 12 janvier 2008 à la Marquise à Lyon, puis le 21 mars au Marché Gare.
Aujourd'hui, AESIRS poursuit son parcours, en composant de nouveaux morceaux, et sur scène.

This text talks about the great invasions of Europe that started at the end of the 4th century with the “Huns” until the end of the 6th century with the “Lombards”. These populations are called “barbarians” “We are called barbarians” for exemple the “Picts” from the current Scotland, the "Goths" from south-east of Europe or the “Francs” from the current Germany, all went to the south west of Europe at the same period. This period was called the great barbarian invasions. These populations lived in a very hostile geographical environment “We stand under a deep sky, Hidden between the stones” with a simple and basic way of living and were not affected by Christian morality “We don’t know any sin - Crime is for you the weaked”
Or the insecure feeling that come with civilisations “Hunters of life -We breathe as we kill- Silent and calm” But their biggest challenge was to survive. The separation of the Romanian empire at the end of the 4th century, into the Oriental part and the Occidental part accelerated the movement of the “barbarians” populations. The Oriental part was under the pressure of aggressive hordes that suffered from the cold, hunger and sickness “The wind froze our skin - A Message from beyond”. The “Huns” for example lived in the completely frozen lands of the current Siberia. They decided to search for an area that was better for the survival of their population. When the oriental part of the Romanian empire felt the pressure of these hordes who were willing to sacrifice everything to survive, they pushed them to travel further down south to reach the occidental Romanian part of the Empire. This occidental part was already living with Barbarians and integrated them in their civilisation. Even though some graet authers have called them uncivilised, others have seen them as “beautiful and martial population”. The fear was mostly felt by the villages crossed by these fabulous warriors, warriors of life “We breathe as we kill”.
In this text I put have myself into the skin of one of those great dictators such as the famous “Attila”, and wondered how difficult it must have been at the moment to have taken the decision of leaving your country to survive “Women and child, as victim - Tomorrow we'll cross the world”. If civilisations called them barbarians in reality they were very close to the balance of nature and were able to integrate into a civilisation. The misunderstanding of people assimilates the barbarians to the middle age, which actually came far after we had already disappeared or we had already were integrated “Middle age is a non sense”. Middle age is another story.
